from yonder east will soon have to reckon with us. Right now, we are busy with the nixggers.............A white supremacist speaking about South Asians (he could not further distinguish between the different countries that make up South Asia)

He might have been talking about Bobby Jindal !

Article is lame

With due respect to mr. Srinivasan, his views are naive. Bobby Jindal has to appeal to wider audience of Republican party. He is living in the US not in India. He cannot call himself as indian - American because that would kill him politically. Indians here mostly are h1b holders and nearly 90% arrived in the last 10 years.

Extremely MIsleading And Narrow Interpretation Of Jindal's Vision
by rishi on Jul 02, 2015 10:16 PM  | Hide replies

Bobby Jindal is absolutely on the right track. His statement is being maliciously portrayed as anti-Indian in this article which is not at all the case .....on the contrary, he is simply calling for uniformity..... 'inclusiveness' of all Americans as a single identity in today's context....it is a leap forward, if at all one wishes to compare howsoever erroneously with Obama's Afro-American identity as the be-all and end all of last presidential campaign. Obama too was seen more as a true American which got him elected.....it may be difficult to digest this by some. It is unfortunate that sreenivasan could not see the intellectual breakthrough made by Bobby Jindal in matters of political perception in America. Go ahead, Bobby, Americans at large, Indians included shall embrace you for your candid and realistic nationalism as an American.....the emphasis being on an uncompromising commitment to one's geo-political identity and region and not in the genes of any American, French, german, Spanish , italian, indian, Chinese, african Russian, and what else.

Risi you should educate yourself to know his performance as Governor of Luciana. He will miserably fail in the forthcoming election.

Jindal is an American born and brought up in America and converted to Christianity which is the rule if you have to reach the highest post in the US. So we in India should stop going ga ga over his being of indian origin. Same with the current Ambassador Mr Richard Verma. The latter talked about removing the restrictions on foreign NGO funding by the Indian government , which is direct interference in the affairs of India, he did not mince his words or his intentions in this direction, so why do we treat him differently as an Indian American. He should be treated as an American just like Lady Hillary Clinton or Mr Barrack Obama

BTW this applies to all Americans, there are no native Americans , except the (Red) Indians who have been relegated to secluded estates. There are Chinese Americans, Russian Americans and plain Irish Americans, do the people in these countries go ga ga over their being from their countries. Doubt it. So we should shed this habit , it lulls us into a false sense of oneness which the Indian American does not have an iota of, Bobby Jindal is at least honest enough to admit it.

How silly can you get, Nirmal ! Bobby Jindal is only emphasising on his contextual identity as a presidential hopeful where any candidate must view all nationals with uniformity. His American nationalism MUST preceded his genes and that's what he is passionate about...America is his life and his world...so be it ....it lies in the interest of all americans.

How is he (Bobby) any different from your description. The guy said his parents left India because they didn't want to be Indians, he didn't want to be Indian. He changed his name and religion to "fit in" in American society, pretty bad he couldn't get a white woman in spite of this. uses his ethnic-identity where it suits him like how Indians contributed to American society. He is simply opportunistic!
