Way of Life is corruption in India
by samit kumar chakraborty on Jul 05, 2015 05:11 PM

sad part in India is that highly educated, monioed people are more corrupt at times. As the things stand now the youth have very little to look upto. Socialism etc are all bluff but this sort of crony capitalism is very dangerous to say the least.I dont know where we are headed. Now another thing is that corruption is not only with our politicians. Corruption is prevalent in all walks of the society. We can live with it but when we see 35 lakh of urban household have no income. 92% of Rural household runs a family with less than Rs.10000 we should think . Think real HARD. Is this the development we actually want because this immense imbalance will actually ruin the fabric of the society

Yrs.It appears with the corrupt political system cutting across parties, corrupt police, corrupt slow justice delivery which gives protection in terms of required sanctions from many sources, the Indian civil society has no escape from this druggetary scourge of this evil corruption.

Good opportunity for Modiji to rid of corruption
by kaladhara saralaya on Jul 05, 2015 03:46 PM  | Hide replies

All these favours, corruption , propreity talks of news channels are sham!
If the Corruption and propriety is the real issue, then the 90 % of current politicinas would go to jail.
If we take corruption as the basis for Sushmaji and coz of that Sushmaji should resign, it doesn't make any sence. It should not be stopped there. She should be tried in the courts and sent to jail, if proven right.
Similarly, if propriety is the cause of Sushmaji's resignation, then every MLA/MP past and present should stand up for the judicial scrutiny and come clean. I bet 90 % of the current politicians would fail. Just take the example of the favouritism prevailing in the admin. Every Govt officer, including peons will have the backing of some politicians.Morality in India and world wide is vanised long back as the this is Kaliyug.
Every MP of Rajyasabha has been seleced though money power only.
Look at the fate of dEmocracy in India, Amma of TN is again selected as teh CM by the process of democracy!. She has been proven guilty after 13 years of judicial scrutiny and the upper court has negatived all the convictiuon in a stoke of a pen!Look at Laaloo Yadav, roaming free after convition with the umblrella of Bail!
In my opinin, the Political Establishment of today needfs a major surgery so that the ammassed wealth of the country can come back to teh poor and the corrupt politicians /beauraucrats are punished severely like in China.

If the author's argument that

corruption will reduce with increasing economic growth and opportunities is correct, several Indian states (Gujarat, Maharashtra, TN, etc.) are either big exceptions or what has happened in them is not economic growth as widely believed !!

For, the Transparency International has been giving these states lower and lower ranks in general with every passing year and also lower absolute scores in the Corruption Perception Index (CPI) !!

What was the index given by them in last 10 years?
Why we NEED outsider whose interest is in maligning Indian Image?
Give some constructive suggestions and join actively to uproot corruption by giving real time incident and report without fail on corruption help lines.

Please refer the TI site for the CPI rankings given to individual states over the past 2 decades to find out.

Kerala has been named the least corrupt state in India for 7 years in a row.

Politics and corruption
by R Venkataramani on Jul 05, 2015 03:36 PM

Text book definition of politics says \"politics deals with sharing and shaping of power\" \"it is a science of who gets what when and how\" That explains how politics is intertwined with corruption!! There is a saying in Tamil - until thieves reform themselves, we cannot eliminate theft!,

Sushama Swaraj's resignation
by Dilip Bahulikar on Jul 05, 2015 03:28 PM

Why should Sushama resign? That too on account of charges of corruption? There are N no. of people known to be corrupt and they don't face any demand of resignation. Corruption is not only deep-rooted but has earned respectability too. Is it not evident from UPSC results where many great talents from IITs or AIMS are attracted today than earlier days. Previously these people were not joining AIS because there was no big money. Which great Doctor wanted to be a"BABU"? Times have changed.... Mera bharath Mahan!

Do we want this type of governance?
by sasidharan on Jul 05, 2015 03:23 PM

The democratic set up in India has taken us to utter debacle. This is due to unscrupulous politicians and we must induct a re-call system or else we will see democracy drifting to some other form. The parliamentary committe is reported to have recommended un heard of perks to parliamentarians. These fools want these perks to be extended to the whole family of MPs and any thing they can grab under the veil of democracy. When plundering of the public exchequer comes, all these political hooligans unite, irrespective of their party affinities.Any how the present MODI ministry has turned down at least some recommendations, which gets a sigh of relief from our public.
