This issue should be resolved quickly but in the future India needs more R&D.
We need to not only develop good defense products, we need to develop excellent ones!
We need our customers to come to our doors queuing up out the door to buy our products! And that can only be possible if we are making world class products!
And for that we need research and development in all facets of defense industry!
From metallurgy to engine development, from electronics to weapon systems, from aerodynamics to the smallest parts, we need it all!
And there needs to be thousands and lakhs of labs working on every little to biggest things in the defense industry!
For a start, India needs to start working with existing centres like IIT's and set up R&D centres in all of them! For example, IIT Mumbai can be given the lab for engine development, IIT Khadagpur can do metallurgy and so on.
While the private players also need to be encouraged!

Saying 'Good' when it faced repeated mishap will not cut any ice. Instead of sweeping the issue under the carpet, HAL must burn the midnight oil till reliable and durable Druv are produced. The glib talk of Defence Minister will not do.
AAAP PUTTING PRIVATE SECTOR ON BACK-FOOT IS VERY TRUE.
WHAT WILL BE THE SIDE-EFFECTS ?
PRIVATE SECTOR WILL SUFFER. AND JOB CUT AND SALARY CUT WILL BE THE NEXT STEP. IMPORTS WILL INCREASE HENCE THE CAD WILL INCREASE. AND CYCLE GOES ON INCREASING PRICES AND INFLATION.
IS THERE ANY ONE WITH DIFFERENT VIEW ?
IS THERE ANY ONE THINK THAT, PUTTING PRIVATE SECTOR ON BACK-FOOT WILL BRING VERY VERY BRIGHT FUTURE TO ALL THE PEOPLE AND ALL THE NATION ?
LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL. AND TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE IT MORE BEAUTIFUL.
