Great man in talent but common man to the heart. A rare soul who evokes positive comments even after passing into oblivion.

We grew up reading RK's cartoons in TOI.It was a great treat to our eyes & mind without which we could not start our day.RK knew the heart & mind of a common man which he bought in his 'You Said it' cartoons very clearly. We will miss him forever.May his soul rest in peace.

R K Laxman

Laxman was a brilliant cartoonist, maybe one of the best ever. His "You said it" cartoon everyday in the Times of India was the reason I bought the paper. He was fearless to the core. Never hesitated to snub even the biggest names in politics, but all that was done with a good intent, and I'm sure they all took it sportingly. Rest in peace, great Soul.

Nehru cartoons by Laxman
by palanki narayana on Jan 27, 2015 02:41 PM

Laxman found it difficult to capture the facial features of Nehru in a suitable caricature. He finally found that he could represent Nehru perfectly by showing him without his cap.
