While Russia has been our major supplier for decades, India needs to broaden our base and get the best of technology from wherever we can.
Russia has seen a tendency to overcharge us and not give us a fair share in co-development!
So, starting a few new projects jointly with US will not only help us gain better skills but also will lay the foundations for a more deep and robust relationship!

We are facing threat[very serious] from both hostile countries-Pakistan and China. Therefore we have to evolve from bygone days of Nehruvian Doctrine which failed miserably in international political Diaspora. So we need new vision of Modi Doctrin-"SABCO SATH-SOBKO VICASH".
So What, this under secretary coming to India does not warrant a headline news, slave mentality never will stop. He is coming here for money to dupe indians into defence deals and sell junk equipment which nobody else except mercenaries take . If there is agreement on co production where India benefits along with US, then thats fine
