Minister breaks silence on land ordinance
by soma varma on Jan 16, 2015 10:33 AM

Indian economy can grow at any rate from 3% to 25% or more. But INDIA cannot grow. Our land mass is fixed . We cannot GROW it by any means. The present generation (18 to 60yrs) have no right to completely acquire available land or consume the forestry and leave practically little for the future generations to come except concrete jungles and carbon soot and the waste products that gets generated with the present westoxicated economic policy of PRODUCE MORE, CONSUME MORE,
M A K E M A X I MUM PROFIT, irrespective of what is in store by way of ecological degradation as seen from the over use of chemical fertilisers and insecticides and coal based power generation PLUS URBAN waste on account of land consumption for real estate business, SEZ's, infrastructures, PPP projects all of which have their eyes on developed agricultural land. We have to wait and watch what scientific havoc is going to be wrecked due to GENETICALLY modified food and agro-products - cash or kind crops. Ultimately it is science that is going to destroy the world by conquering!! nature

Simple facts...

Farmers have been overly supported and benefitted in last few decades. Benefits are issued in the name of a few small farmers and big one take advantage of it. And then they become abusive to society.

I think Modi has the heart in right place but he does not have the correct people in his cabinet. These ministers do not understand the long term impact of these unthoughtful decisions that they are making.

The over-supported farmers are a drag on the Indian economy. They produce at very low levels for the subsidies granted.

We will see more social conflicts like Singur in days to come as the only prized possession of poor that is land is their source of bread and butter.

We have plenty of uncultivable land in India which can be used for industry. At the moment they lack the infrastructure like road, rail link etc.

Politics apart, it makes sense to invest money in uncultivable land and make them suitable for industrial requirement. The investment will propel the economy also.

Why create more situations for social conflict.

To create social conflict we have people like Mutallik and sakshi etc.

Individual feelings are different and party feelings are different in democratic set up. Even in a family, not necessary that wife husband, parents vs. children have the same feelings but live together share sorrow and pleasure together. Media and opposition only make it hyper.

by Sanjay Tomar on Jan 15, 2015 05:12 PM  | Hide replies

First Rural Minister not telling the truth many thing changed before telling to the people of India . He first must resign until land acquisition ordinance bill not get scraped then he have right to speak in favor of farmer again making fool. This ordinance is anti farmer for taking forcefully land from farmer. Now again cheating to people to show he is with farmer not with industrialist. Farmer must defeat this minister in coming election. BJP must be defeated become anti farmer party.

Why wait for an another election.

My suggestion to all good-hearted, kind and wise common people is:
Unite together and put a halt to all such illogical, ill-advised and criminal ordinances, laws and anything to happen.

Jaago Indians Jaago! Ab toh Jaago!

"Jaago Indians Jaago! A toh Jaago!"

We have been trained to self-destroy ourselves for last so many years. And now thiss govt. is trying to change that. If the country becomes stronger that it will be difficult to destroy it.

Silently what are Modi doing against the poor people?
by Thankachan on Jan 15, 2015 05:07 PM  | Hide replies

Educated unemplyees were stabbed, farmers were stabbed and this is the beginning of Modi's silent rule. He never attended guajarat assembly and as such he will not attend parliament. He will bring everything against the labours and commonmen though ordinance only.

The poor people do not want to listen to the government to become rich. No one can do anything to protect their interests.

Poor people have a vote too. At the very least they can be persuaded that the new ordinance will benefit them too.

Why aren't any hologram projections being sent out to the villages ? At least they'd feel that someone cared.

Its ridiculous to say the Land Act was passed in a hurry to please someone, since it was discussed for over ten years. Also, the BJP voted for this Act and they were under no obligation to do so. The moment Mr Modi started opposing the provisions of the Land Act , all the BJP Ministers changed their minds like chameleons changing colours.

The BJP could have had more wide ranging discussions instead of promulgating ordinances.
Now, it does look as if they have triggered off farmer's anger , which could be the most dangerous portent yet for the NDA.

scrap the land acquisition law.
by kabir on Jan 15, 2015 04:33 PM  | Hide replies

No one is against development, even farmers want development, but development does not mean have few more billionaires in India, Everyone should benefit from it. So far farmers and tribals have lost their only wealth i.e, land but have never received any compensation. They are left to die in abject poverty. while those who got lands for free or at cheaper price have sold them to foreign investors and became billionaires. If the industry wants free market why use socialist laws to grab lands from those who are already poor? Scrap the land acquisition law altogether except for military and national research laboratories. If the project cost goes high then get funding either from banks or venture capitalist. Farmer can be such venture capitalist, land being the real capital. BJP is trying to use reforms as tool of making brahmin/baniya billionaires while rest will be slaves.

A correct analysis of Land acquisition bill. This present govt specially Modi is trying best for acquiring lands & minerals of Poor farmers & Tribes.Actually India does not need to soft the land acquisition bill as Indioa does not need new industry on fertile lands.Industry should grow slowly as per the requirement of mass population.Market is full of consumer goods at low prices all over the world.Hence protect environment,Agricultral land & mineral for future genration.Control population & spread education. This is the demand of the time that farmers of India should be strengthened enough to produce raw materials for FMCG goods & the 100% funda of FDI should be thrown in sea alongwith Namo.
