Farmers are going to be affected due to this act, which will lead to suicides, agitations, dharnas, its clear that govt. want to give cakewalk to corporates the act is unjust as it gives govt. the power to takeway land at their will for the interest of coporates.
We need land for accommodating over population, infrastructure and industry to employ people, from where it will come, only land can be increased by way of developing land for cultivation, as all these infrastructure are needed at the place where maximum people live. Why Medha and Anna are not dare enough to agitate for population control or for one child norm-which is root cause of all such problems. Will they?
There is nothing wrong with land acquisition process.
For development we need to make sacrifices. If our ancestors didnt make sacrifices, then Mumbai, Delhi and other metros would be limited to 2 square kilometres and everybody else would be living in the villages.
WHy this attitude towards the drive to modernise the country?
Development happens when change comes and change doesnt come out of nothing. You have to move things to change things.

india's biggest problem is un matured educated people,like you, which can't be solved.what are you going to eat after changing all the available lands for industries.devolepment is need of the day ,but not by destroying agriculture.

These old hags like Medha Patkar, Arundhati Roy are the biggest warts on Indian democracy. If we listen to these old haggards, India would still be entrenched in 14th Century. This land acquistion bill of 2013 was focussed only on garnering votes from the tribals and rurals. Why should the government ask the buyers to pay FOUR TIMES THE MARKET VALUE to the seller? Why should the government need to intervene in a agreement between the buyer and seller? Do you think anybody in right senses will agree to buy land at 4 times the market value? Will Medha Patkar be ready to do that? And why should these land owners be exenpted from Income Tax? We middle class are the only ones who need to pay income tax - you make us the scape goat for all your subsidies given to the so called poor just to garner votes. Enough of these vote bank politics. Good that Medha Patkar lost the elections, I am sure all these Medha Patkars and Arundhati roys will be relegated to dustbin in the next 5 years
