We need Secularism like the West
by Confused Mind on Jan 19, 2015 08:28 AM  | Hide replies

Before British the world economy was based on petty trading of spices
and goods. There was no serious science, education, research, sports.
Only playing gulli-danda all day and some mediocre gurukuls.
East is barbaric and backward. West is scientific and civilized.
The West is not Xtian but Secular like Greek & Rome.
Macaulay came to civilise India and did to a large
extent. The British have civilised the world. Every
development you see around in this world is because
of the British. From science, technology, democracy,
medicine to English language unification and so forth.
Singapore and Hong Kong developed because it rejected
the past and adopted the British. Adopt
the Truth and scientific ways of the West and British.
India is slightly better than neighboring countries that
they do not kill people over cartoons.

Bill Maher is Right

Most people believe that moral progress has primarily been due to the guiding light of religious
teachings, the activities of spiritual leaders, and the power of faith-based initiatives. In “The
Moral Arc” the author argues that this is not the case, and that most moral progress is the result
of science, reason, and secular values developed during the Enlightenment.

Hinduism affected by BAD application of Casteism
by Truth Speaker on Jan 18, 2015 01:37 PM  | Hide replies

How much damage has come to "Hinduism' by deviating the True Barnashram (Casteism) from "Gita / Vedant" to a wr0ng application by creation of disrespect to the weak sections of the society ????

Which was originally a work demarkation only (in Gita) according to individual capability, we changed it to degrade lower caste people !!! WHY ???

Which was originally for individuals (like today's exam system), we changed it to 'by birth' ...

Like a Doctor's next generation can be a player or an armyman, G0D never guaranteed a so-called brahomin's next generation will have aptitude for another brahomin and sudra's son/daughter will not have capability for King !!!

WHY we thought it ? G0D never said so !!!

Conversion happened because of indirect violence.
by Rajesh Chheda on Jan 18, 2015 12:42 PM  | Hide replies

Violence caused this group to convert to Islam.
They lost out on host of benefits that govt provides to OBCs.
Thirty years ago and today things have not changed for better for either religion.
Their only crime is that they are poor hence easy pickings for violent mobs nothing to do with what faith they follow.

Dishonest?
by Desi on Jan 18, 2015 12:10 PM  | Hide replies

I have some questions which I am hoping the writer and publisher will answer (and not delete this message):
1. Is this an academic study whose validity and reliability is vouched for or is this just an opinion piece which is the norm for such 3rd rate publications? If the second is true then this is not only a dishonest act but also an act that is trying to foment conflict between communities.
2. What implications does the writer and publisher want us to draw? That all Indians and particularly H1ndu5 should convert? What is the purpose behind this article? Is it to promote concversions from H1ndu15m?
3. It is ridiculous how such 3rd rate writers us the term Upper Caste as per their convenience? Sometimes it is only Brahmins and Kshatriyas who are upper castes but sometimes, when they have to prove a point, anyone who is not the lowest caste in any particular area is upper caste?

Real problem
by Suresh S on Jan 14, 2015 11:40 AM  | Hide replies

The biggest threat Hinduism faces currently is not from other religions. But its from within in the form of casteism. Gone are the days of forcible conversions. The moment we realize it, then there won't be a single conversion to other religions.
