This is what NRI's want!
by Grizzly on Jan 08, 2015 04:38 PM

NRI investment is very closely aligned with the international company's!

NRI's and foreign companies want the following from India before they can bring container full of dollars and Euros into India:

1. Security of their investment: Laws that prevent locals from illegally grabbing their properties and investments!

2. Ease of doing business: Quick registration of their businesses, quick approvals and quick solution of their problems by Indian bureaucracy. Laws to ensure fair business prospects whether it is manufacturing, call centre, import-export, logistics, defence related or any other business they are involved in!

3. Reasonable infrastructure: Lands for their factories, access to wide highways and fast railways and ports. Financial system to recover their debts. GST laws with clear and simple taxation rules.

4. Lifestyle infrastructure: World class schools, hospitals, Universities and luxury lifestyle for them and their families which of-course they will be happy to pay for when they use it.

Overseas Indians/People of Indian Origin
by Antony Thomas on Jan 08, 2015 11:36 AM  | Hide replies

The problem with Indian system is that once somebody is successful overseas, they claim that they are Indians, forgetting that when they were in India – in most of the cases, the state or anybody has extended any support or help to them. Once these people are successful, your expectations are too high that they should contribute for the development of India.

Taking the current case, people are going abroad and working here to earn some money to uplift their respective families. Now if they remit oney to India, you wanted to impose a tax on them, forgetting that you were not able to provide good employment opportunities to them.

How Indian government can expect these people to be emotionally attached to their motherland?

Stop complaining sir. The Indian governments you are talking about are not imported from outside. It essentially is the reflection of us (You, me & scores of Indians). Many were at least fortunate enough to have access to national resources which allowed them the affordability to travel to the lands with better opportunities for their personal gains. Its their prerogative if they want to return the favor or not. A great soul from the same place where scores of NRIs stay had once said "Ask not what your country did for you, ask what you did for your country." Do not earn only money there. Earn some good values too. Its OK if the NRIs choose not to be attached to their country of origin emotionally. But cribbing & complaining!!! UPKAR mat karo yaar.
