Toilet problem

"I feel such toilets can be installed by MLAs and MPs..."
People feel they have no responsibilty for their own welfare...almost seven decades of Cong rule had left a mindset of dependenc....always depending on govt to do everything for them.

Toilet in container enclosure

Sheela Balaji has done a wonderful job for the women and school going children of this tiny hamlet by providing wash room/toilet.Indeed rural INDIA has no wash room or toilet inside house mostly across all STATES and women and men have to go and ease in open areas
PM"s idea of more toilets and Swachh Bharat Abhiyan should go a long way to provide hygienic environ and toilet/bathroom for every village and public areas.

it is a good move but this way is costly, only bricks, cementis cheap, nowadays dravidian class of people going to america since most of tanjore farmers son will be working in Bangalore, then they will get foreign site work, hence these people are going seeing all this, 30 years back, these people were saying that we are poor class, brahamins are upper class, because of color complexion, this was encashed by dravidian party to categorise brahamins and non brahamins, what a funny thing telugu speaking naidus are called tamils, but tamil mother tongue iyers are not called tamils by dravidian parties all for votes, since in tamilnadu,8 Percent people are telugu speaking, they are larger segment vote catching.during 1970 and 1995 those who pass that time could not get jobs or admission, because they are forward castes, reservation is a toll who work as to avoid brahamins come up, what is this social justics? now all caste people come up, now they are going to temple to safe guard their money, previously they are anti hindu people, that is why tamilisai, BJP Sevretary told that now tamilnadu has become godly friendly state not anti hindu state.it is correct.

Shipping Container

Shipping Container is not cheap in India, it's cheap in US. When they receive shipments from Asia in shipping containers, it's much cheaper to receive items in new shipping containers, than to ship it back.

It's not so cheap in India, and definitely not easy to construct with shipping containers. It would be much cheaper to build with cement and bricks.

Building a tiled bathroom with bricks and cement would roughly cost Rs. 50,000...so you can build about 14 toilets with that money.

I am sure there are cheaper, more portable alternatives.

The inputs for economising the construction are good; How to make it cheaper and workable should be looked into? There are so many guys coming out with cheaper options. Cheaper options should not make the work shabbier.

Conversion of ship container to toilets.
by narayanan vishwanathan on Jan 06, 2015 09:35 AM

Well done. Well said that MLAs and MPs in their constituencies can undertake this work using their development funds. How many MLAs and MPs would really would like to undertake this work. They always look for Road building contracts or contracts of such nature where they can swindle the whole allocation of development fund of their location. I feel such toilets can be installed by MLAs and MPs in their constituencies using their development funds? If PMs office is really serious, this can be implemented in right earnest and this would be right beginning for SWATCH BHARAT as declared by the PM.
