Bangladesi Refugees.
by Raghunandanan on Feb 20, 2015 02:09 PM  | Hide replies

Now the Bangla Deshi refugees are spread across the nation in lakhs. I have seen them in Kerala working as laborers. This is a big menace. They should be sent back to their country. If BJP promised to send them back, they should do it now.

And those Bangladeshis working in Kerala for wages ranging from Rs. 350/- per day to Rs. 600/- per day are conveniently regarded as Bengalis by Congress partymen in Kerala to argue (without conviction) that minimum wages in Bengal, that was ruled by the left for long, are very low!

Yes you are absolutely right. Even in Tamilnadu there are a lot of illegal Bangladeshi immigrants working in the industrial areas, because no body in Tamilnadu is prepared to work after a string of freebies offered by the successful Governments of Tamil nadu. Young people in Tamilnadu want to do some non-strenuous jobs for 2-3 days a week, and with the money earned want to enjoy the rest of the week at the TASMAC liquor shops and movie theatres.

Even that is not such a bad thing after all compared to what used to prevail for long till wages and welfare began to slowly catch up in Tamil Nadu.

Until just a few years ago, Tamil workers used to crowd Kerala towns for unskilled daily wage jobs. They were attracted to Kerala just as those Bangladeshis, Oriyas, Biharis, Jharkhandis, Chattisgarhis, etc. are attracted to Kerala today.

Then as well as now, Kerala has been and remains an island of decent wages for manual work in the Indian sea of gross underpayment and exploitation and human rights violations.

Just as one can see those north Indians and Bangladeshis crowding some spots in many towns in Kerala these days each morning waiting to be called for unskilled work, tamilians used to stand about in those places till a few years ago. They still do though in fewer numbers. The tamilians used to specialize in the most demeaning jobs such as cleaning of sewers and septic tanks and in not so safe work such as spray painting in low end workshops.

The tamilians came crowding to Kerala in those days only because they used to get not more than Rs. 80/- per day (at least till the mid 2000s) for a full day's griding work in the fields and other places. It is then a good thing after all that things have begun to change for the tamil workers, is it not ?

BJP's Credibility

Whatever be the reasons for Pradyut Bora's resignation, we definitely see erosion of parliamentary procedures, democratic values and honest administration in modern days. Where are the Sardar Patels and Lal Bahadur Sastrys? People only want more and more power.

The promise made during elections by the BJP.Bringing black money stashed in foreign banks in 18 months, transfer of lakhs of rupees in every citizens account, teach Pakistan a lesson and bring back Dawood and Hafiz to India,All Bangala desi to be shunted out of Indian soil, etc etc in the name of Achche Din.Now who will dare to make this 5 years tenure govt accountable. At least with the route in Delhi Bjp should wake up to do something significant other than blasting a fishing boat in the name of Pakistan backed intuders.

I worked under you in the BJP IT CELL. But did not expect this from you. Leave aside your lofty ideals, the plain matter of fact is you were close to Mr Sudheendra Kulkarni and when he fell out of the power equations in the BJP, you found no future in BJP for yourself.
Sorry for being so straight forward and blunt.

There are too many people from BJP's IT cell here.

The damage they have done to BJP's image is for everyone to see in Delhi election results.

In every defeat we at the I.T. Cell are the villains, be it Delhi 2015 or Lok Sabha 2009. This is a classic example of shooting the messenger.

It's symptomatic of a deeper malaise
by Vijay Sahani on Feb 20, 2015 11:09 AM  | Hide replies

When people leave a sinking ship, it may or may not be due to opportunism

but

when people leave a party which is on a winning spree it is symptomatic of a deeper malaise i.e. cronyism, arrogance by top functionaries, etc.
