For every immigrant of high value,
by piri on Feb 23, 2015 05:31 PM  | Hide replies

the US gets hundreds as chaff in accompaniment !

If it is only a few Indians among the 3 million that live in the US who are of real value to that country (an usual comment aired in private by many in America regarding Indian immigrants as well as immigrants from other Asian countries), then why isn't America tightening visa norms further as it can do without much of a struggle ?

Why is the US allowing so many riff raff from India and other countries in along with people of value ?

It requires only common sense to understand that only a miniscule fraction of the immigrants belong to the truly distinguished class and the others come in their capacities as pretenders or as dependents of those distinguished ones.

If America relaxes visa rules or has rules and norms that are not truly dovetailed to achieve the desired objectives, then America will end up with a hundred commoner immigrants for each immigrant of high value ! And this is what has been happening for long.

Whom are you calling riff raff?

Indian immigrants are the most educated and with highest education among the other immigration groups. Their median income is 100K.

Their lowest educated ones are more educated that any from your family and earn more to keep your entire family as servants and maids.

it is disturbing to witness indians targetted in the western countries inspite of their immense contribution to the host country in various fields. the indian government should take necessary steps to protect the lives of indians living abroad. the indian embassies through out world should show serious interest in protecting the indians (to whichever indian state they belong to....this is important ; especially in the gulf countries)

I have treated indians fairly and so do majority of americans true racism is in india australia uk newzealand is the worst. US is made up of immigrants fyi. Only indians who bring their unhygienic, Ill manners get the boot at the hand of illmannered rural or less educated folk. The incident happened in south known for their slavery hey days this gentelman shouldve been advised by his son not to go peeping in neighborhoods and if police rame he shouldve had his id with him its the law here. Though police clearly overeacted but they dont differentiate between olD young or gender and there are incidents where kldies have shot an officer in the face this gentelman put his hands inthe pocket he was lucky he didnt get shot its sad but the laws are stricter here. All those who have problems please go back to your cultured countries no one is forcing you to come here, please just be happy where you are and dont blanket everyone under the action of few. indians are know to bring religion in everything we dont this had nothing to do with that it was a suspicion raised by neighbor even though the author did his best to flavor it otherwise but that premise falls flat .

Don't try to cover up tim jim or whatever. Author is only reacting to the sermons of you president who has to first look at his back side, before advising others. Your prejudice is clear when you find Indians 'ill mannered and unhygienic'. Don't issue Visas to Indians and take all your companies our of India asap.

Religious intolerance

Two or three very basic differences that come to mind between the religious and racial discrimination in India and abroad..
1.      Abroad it is individuals who indulge in this and or small groups – and the state, the police and the public at large speak out against these individuals and groups.
2.      Whereas here the discrimination and victimization seems to be organized and supported by the state and the political establishment – otherwise why is there no open statement by leaders speaking out against such violence and discrimination?
3.      It is not just this, it is also victimization of the lower class by the upper class again it is an case of established and structured discrimination and no one speaks up against it – thereby condoning or maybe secretly supporting such discrimination.

1. what the state will do after speaking out, nothing in practical.

2. we have all sorts of appeasements and all sorts of protective laws to curb that discrimination in our constitution, and no state can go against to it. and this excuse is not the way to defend ur bias.

3. "established and structured discrimination"??? do u understand what ur talking about? seems u r good in playing divisive stunts.

our PM is BC, and the party he is representing is largely supported by OCs. this is simply not digestive to u, right?

1) Then what is USCRF?

2) Of course the state and political establishment supports discrimination. Otherwise how do you explain a PM coming out and declaring all national resources belong to the minorities and subsidizing their pilgrimage to mecca and Jerusalem. Not to speak of pre- matriculation scholarships available to only minority students.

3) Do you mean the upper class whites discriminating against the lower class Blacks? Of course such discrimination exists everywhere.

of late, it has become a fashion for Indians to criticize their own country no matter what the reason it is? We always praise the US a lot even though they are on the wrong side. We have grown to such an extent that we just make fun of our ancient scriptures and teaching and always take the Western beliefs as proof. We like to criticize our learned ones and do not believe in their achievements

While sympathising the physical suffering of a fellow Indian its highly nauseating to see hardliners telling two rights make one right. Here hindu organisations have upped their ante in attacking, preventing and threatening religiuos freedom. When VHP was getting their dollars from expats they were very happy. This was the money sowed to create discord.
Anywhere tolerence is the key be it US or India. You hype in media sayong thet intolerance in US ia unacceptable...then what about here...India

Thing is, you don't lecture others when your own house is in disorder. Was it not at the behest of the church that the U S president gave sermons to India? And look what happens in his own backyard after he delivered those lectures. At least the American Hindu foundation is not pressing Obama to issue such statements (although temple was vandalised in washington) and are waging a lone battle. Worst thing is, the police itself is attacking them. And yes your sympathies are not required.

If your skin color is brown and you don't speak English, even you would have been attacked. So it is more of a racist attack than an attack on a Hindu.

Just because your sicular media discreetly ignores temple vandalised in washington does not mean religious discrimination does not exist in U S.

Hyndu or muxlim, chrzitin or seekh,
by piri on Feb 20, 2015 10:57 PM  | Hide replies

high caste or low caste, Punjabi or Gujarati or Telugu, man or woman..........................................they all go streaming in from the boondocks that are India, Pakistan and Bangladesh in ever hopeful, perpetually drooling and very very long lines to get in......just get in somehow, by whatever means..................into one of those western developed countries..........and hang on for dear life !!

Once the semi emaciated beings from yonder east somewhere (as one white supremacist described South Asians) reach the shores of U.K, USA, Canada, or any other developed country, they begin to dredge around for sustenance and manage to slowly fatten up !

And once they begin to fatten up, they begin to become aware that most among them (except the most distinguished ones) are being regarded with contempt and revulsion by their white hosts !

And it is then to try and regain at least a modicum of self-esteem that these beings begin to form groups among themselves and slowly start saying fancy things about themselves, their supposed ancestry and their supposed indispensability for the societies they live in !

This way, they hope to - longingly hope to - secure acceptance from their white hosts and become secure in the thought that they never would have to return to their boondock homelands !

Yes but the American corporates too drool looking at Indian market
despite the red tape, corruption and what not . Not to speak of the extremely racist Indian public. It cuts both ways.
