MILITARY AND POLITICIANS
by jibu on Dec 07, 2015 12:27 PM

I WONDERED WHERE OUR POLITICIANS WERE DURING THE FLOOD.ARMY WAS CALLED TO HELP. WHEN ARMY ASK FOR RISE OF SALARY AS THEIR RIGHTFULLY ASK, OUR POLITICIANS TURN AWAY.BUT FOR POLITICIAN 400% HIKE IN THEIR SALARY IS LESS FOR THEM.WE SHOULD BYCOTT THEM AND END THEIR VIP CULTURE. LETS PLEDGE TO SAVE INDIA FROM THESE POLITICIANS.

VARUN Vs CHENNAI
by RMK Proprietor on Dec 07, 2015 07:58 AM

As stated in headlines Chennai seems, to be in no pressure at all, by the explosive Batting from Varun, e.g in photo 1. Lalitha in painting is heartily smiling, in the second one, people are carrying fooditems in their hand & laughing. in the third one 2 two persons on Van are supplying food materials to affected people & have worn black T-shirts having office-2 BRAND NAME. So Chennai hve whole heartedly accepted the dasher VARUN >2015

clean and green india is the solution
by youngcitizen on Dec 07, 2015 04:48 AM

make india every part clean and green no mosquito no flies no dirt no pollution no traffic jams.every citizen must clean their own garbage once in a month and stop that baseless debate over fake caste and religion which has no relevance in todays world.all universe is growing except india.they are going bad to worst situation.those who made this caste system must feel shame and must slap themselves everyday for dividing the nation.
pleasemake india clean and green without any shame.their must be fines and now for dirty cities...equal work equal pay.respect for all work or occupations..save more lives by planting trees everywhere which can stop floods in india..do it fast in 1-3 months only.we can make india rich in tourists if india is clean.we can be the best in the world.jai hind

Chennai rains
by WILSON CHANDRAN on Dec 06, 2015 10:54 PM  | Hide replies

Whether it is sunami, famine, rains, floods or fire- whatever hardship the sufferers are only very poor and downtrodden most apt word is Dalits. In cuddalore dist so far the death toll is about 65 of whom no forward community or rich/middle/literate suffered. It has been talked much about South Chennai where more, literate, middle,Upper middle and rich society of Chennai are living while more poor are living in North Chennai and hence media attraction is more. In fact in every rain the most sufferers are more form North Madras. Most affected persons are from poor only but it is not spoken much. More is being talked of about loss of vehicles, Electronic goods, traffic jams, electricity but not of loss of life.

My comment is misunderstood just taking one word. What I wrote was based on the statement of a discussion from a neutral TV Channel wherein a news editor from the most popular and oldest News Paper, said. He said as Dalit died more in numbers, over 50%. I extended it as literate/ upper/rich. I expressed the topography of Chennai as North and South. Whichever the calamity only poor and illiterate suffers. Who are living in the riverbed of Coovam and Adayar rivers. Every rain they only suffer. This time, as the lakes are full, considering overall safety, more water was released which affected inner area. Everything is recoverable except life.

Open your mind, don't fill yourself with such preconceived ideas. Go out see who are suffering and judge for yourself. This narrow minded gibberish will do more harm than good at this juncture.

Mr Ganesh : I commented about Cuddalore where 65 people were dead due to flood whereas Chennai is being talked more. Does not mean Chennai not suffered but within Chennai North Chennai people suffered more as well as poors residing in the riverbed of Adyar and Coovum rivers. I am a resident of Chennai since 1970 and every nook and corner I know. Still I say Poor people voices are not heard much. There are about 17 lakhs people living in the river beds of whom over 90% lost all their belongings. As of date they have been accommodated in Govt Schools, marriage halls and in places of worship and being fed. After that just think of their life. Relief measures are being given only to North Chennai people. Still the rain continues in Cuddalore dist and almost all the tanks are full as of date and excess water is being released from tanks. If the rain continues still that district would face problem. Similarly Dams in Tirunelveli, Kanyakumari, Madurai Coimbatore and Mullai Periyar are full to their capacity. Better water management is essential if rain continues in those districts.
