is causing such havoc. All the Govts. States and Center must make development in such a manner that it should be evenly distributed in whole India. Gandhi ji was right when he emphaiszed that unit of development should be Village.
The condition of Chennai residents is pitiable. Water every where but no potable water to drink, no milk, no communication facitilities, because of lack of power, people are unable to charge their mobiles.
Chennai had hitherto (Nov) rain about 121 cm normally used to have little above 45cm. Also neighbouring two districts had huge rain fall for the past three days (42 cms in one day) This caused three lakes have become full to its capacity which forced the authorities to release. Last night from reservoir Chembarambakkam the authorities released huge quantom of water thru Adyar River- which affected more areas in the city. Main cause: many small lakes were turned to residential buildings and the water ways were blocked and hence the low lying areas were affected heavily. Adayar River, Koovam River and Buckingham Channel were narrowed down for the past 40/50 years. Many NGOs,individuals, groups, religious organisations and various public/private companies are helping the affected people in different form in addition to state and central govt agencies/departments. I think it is an eye opener to all for future.
We people of Karnataka and Bangalore pray for safety of chennai people particular and Tamil Nadu in general , may the rain Gods have mercy of them. Aijaz hussain
We welcome the policy of Indian government. Center government are stand behind to any help. They are providing all necessary goods, medicine and foods also. We should give charity to flood area by Prime Minister releaf fund. Definitely, our small part of charity give him big releaf.
