GREAT WORK !
by KRISHNAMURTHY V on Aug 13, 2015 07:35 AM

Given the fact that the Naga militancy problem has been prevalent right from the time of the British, it is great work by the Special Interlocutor Mr. R.N.RAVI, who negotiated with the Naga rebel factions to make it possible. Only the framework may be out by now, but the fact that the biggest of the Naga groups NSCN-IM and much of the Naga civil societies have been involved, is encouraging. The other factions will soon be on board. This proves that "Where there is a will ( on the part of the Govt) there is a way (out for any problem)"

Nagas not in India
by niran patet on Aug 12, 2015 04:23 PM  | Hide replies

this interview and others like it miss one thing; there were more than 400 states which did not want to be in India; they also wanted fiercly their independence; why these states should also not be given special independent status; what is so special about nagas or j&K or generally ne states that they alone deserve such servitude from India; why not give same special status to uttrakhand, himachal also being the himalayan states.why this police officer not talk of indianness and asmita of india. the moment we start mollycoddling one group, opposite reaction is natural in all other left groups. we must have a strong united india with people free to move throught out its borders.

India is so diverse that giving greater autonomy to States, whether it is Nagaland or Uttarkhand, will ultimately benefit India and prevent it from splintering into many pieces. The 400 States that were present at Independence wanted to remain outside India as an entity and that was not possible. The more decentralized the administration becomes the better it is for most issues.

The difference between you and RN Ravi is that he has a great knowledge about Naga HISTORY and also have a lot of understanding of the people and culture. Except for Nagas, all 400 states (400?) have either by consent or compulsion joined the union of India. In that case India needs to look at Nagas from a different point of view.

this is because our founding fathers envisaged India as a union and not a federation of states because our history shows that in a federal structure is hard to sustain when the center is weak

Why Sonia Gandhi so embarrassed about this Naga Accord. She should be pleased that peace has prevailed in the North Eastern States

That is a great job; kudos to Shri. Ravi, and to Shri. Issac, Shri. Muivah and other leaders. Also goes to show the great positive working style of our PM; he chooses a right person for a job, and gives him freedom to complete the job. Overall a great day for Bharat !!

There is no accord yet, just a publicity about an intention which they call framework. There is no agreement that's why there are no details. Not even the cabinet knows nor the Home Minister.
