Time he starts a tour in india by road n solve starvation, hunger, poverty, shelter, etc. Instead of fast trains, Arbus,,nuclear, satellite, technology. Satellite cities n many.. In reality the beneficiaries are only big, biz house n certain class. The poor bigger n poor are only increasing, it's widening now .. Hope Modi listens !!??

Actually, India or Modi cannot wait or push poor out of poverty, and then go ahead with Modernization. If you wait for poor to be middle class, and middle class to be rich.. it would another 50 years. Meanwhile all these developments cannot be ignored.

Thousands of years of Indias history is

testimony to the fact that it has never indulged in aggression?

How could it have ever indulged in aggression on the neighborhood ?

It was rarely ever united as one nation in the first place!

Through almost the entire span of those thousands of years, India was tens or hundreds of different nations!

Samxudra Gupta or Khixlji or Akbar might have briefly united most of Indias land space politically. But these lulls were so brief that there never was a chance for true amalgamation of the different cultures spread across the land. And whatever amalgamation did indeed take place was despite India being different nations that were often hostile to or at war with one another.

To this day, the variances in language and culture and the multiplicity of languages and cultures are immensely greater than any similarities or common threads that may run through.

And these different nations were so busy fighting each other (indulging in aggression on each other) and trying to conquer or dominate one another that there was hardly any time for any of the rulers to look outward.

To the north, there was the mighty Himalayas that prevented any ruler in India from harboring hopes of aggression across it (though that joxker among rulers - Mohammed bin Tughlaq - did consult his ministers and commanders to plan an expedition to China).

To the north west, there were only arid waste lands (present day Afghanistan and eastern Persia) that did not hold promise of anything for any ruler.

To the east, there were formidable mountains, thick and impossible jungles and fierce tribes.

And in every other direction, there were thousands of miles of sea to cross before aggression could be committed (though the Cholas of Thanjavur did cross those thousands of miles of sea and did indulge in some aggression in south east Asia upon then submissive peoples).

How can such a reality make anyone (other than political clowns or delusionists) try to suggest that no nation among those hundreds of Indian nations ever want to indulge in aggression ?

Where from Alexander came and where he met his demise! How many centuries ago? You forgot your nation's history and hence you lost chance even to pass comments.
Mouryas' Bharat was far bigger than what our nation is today. Bharatvarsha was always spiritually one.
We have unwritten law that we never engage in aggression!

Unfortunately, the hole in the doughnut has been getting bigger and bigger with each passing year for commoners - whether under the Congress or under the BJP !

And with the recent series of alleged pro-development (which is nothing but crony capitalism in its ugliest manifestation) moves such as the coal and mining act amendment, land act amendment, steep reduction in public spending on healthcare and education, etc., the hole has become so big that the doughnut is hardly visible !

Of course, the doughnut for state backed big time thieves such as Mukesh Ambani has only been getting bigger and heavier !
