Hope the truth comes out. The Priya Pillai case may be relevant. Anyway only the truth matters, whatever it is.

Westrn countries send bountifull of money to these NGO's to stop India s devolopment by citing environment problems since they have vested interest.. These western countries in the past damaged ecology and continue till today hurting environment. Our INDIAN NGO's dont understand western countries motive behind contribution of money to them. They fear devoloped India can pose problems to western countries. This is the first time Govt has shown guts to ban a NGO. well done PM

Greenpeace has been employed by vested interests to economically destroy India. Its time we pack them out of India.

In future all NGOs, whether Indian or foreign must be taxed at 50% rate without allowing for any kind of deductions or allowances.

None of these NGOs work for development agenda, but their intention is to create internal trouble by pitting one group of people against others.

If they had really worked, we would have been a economical success atleast 20 years back itself. This has not happened because they simply raise funds, instigate people and swallow the funds amongst themselves. That is the real story.

Are we really who we claim we are?
by Vijay Sahani on Apr 09, 2015 04:00 PM  | Hide replies

We claim to be a democratic society
but we cannot allow an NGO to have views which are opposite to that of GOI.

We claim to be a tolerant society
but we ban books written by Rushdie and V S Naipaul.

We claim to be a liberal society but we ban beef consumption because it hurts sentiments of the majority community.

We Indians are two faced, hypocritical people some of whom do not even realize that they are living in self-delusion.

If someone has decided to oppose all the decision, than we will have to create a department to defend all decision taken by Govt. What a waste of public money or this will hinder decision making. Positive criticism is good provided it improves the situation. Are all suggestion implemented by their Parent organization in their respective countries. Are they not surviving on Nuclear energy ? Infact most of them are bidding for contracts in India.

No country has banned (or suspended) Greenpeace so far. We will be the first. For what? Gor getting foreign funds? For hindering development? If Greenpeace is doing anything illegal government can act but what is this about hindering development? You mean to say that if we want development everyone should agree with what the government is doing?

You may be right but why impose your morals on someone else? Let everyone decide for themselves what is good for them.

Either you can kill all animals or don't kill at all. When only cows and buffaloes are banned? It has everything to do with religion. Don't delude yourself.

The point is not that we don't allow dissent; Congies and Leftists are not banned ; they have ALWAYS been against Modi and BJP. But this Greenpeace is canvassing in foreign countries in conferences got up by some unworthy organizations and Government does not have a chance to counter this type of propaganda funded by foreign donations. These organisations are antinational. Consumption of beef is not a fundamental right; if it were so why was ban on cow slaughter included in the directive principles of the Constitution? Was this only ornamental? You ask the poor cow how they feel when being taken to slaughter> If any one has a right to beef, will you allow human meat being consumed?

If the state respects religion to any extent, it will prevent ANOTHER person's religious practices being forced upon me.

There is no majority or minority in this. As far as the individual is concerned, he should be allowed to follow the dietary prohibitions he wants, not those followed in his neighbour's house.

And human meat consumption is not in traditional use here. It may be part of the culture in other places. Go protest in New Guinea or Africa, if this possibility disturbs you so much.

Mr Sahani.....let NGO's have thier view but why should they object all devolopmental projects undertaken by the govt. Whatever they are enjoying today is the fruit of devolopment only. Why can't they find vested interest of westrn country in stopping the project. Do you have any answers to this. Devolped counties doesnot want other country to develop hence use these NGO's to put obstruction to projects of the govt
