Why waste time in negotiations

I strongly feel that India should look for new pastures. Deal with nations which are far more easy to do business with. Pay extra cost for the Knowledge transfer and start developing Inhouse Manufacturing.

Own manufacturing will help us not only to manufacture on our own, But in doing so we can build many aircraft. India should go by any one who is willing to part technology with cost, and do business on reasonable terms.

we only managed a underpowered LCA - 1 , the next version will tak another 10 - 12 years while we need to replace about 200 MIG - 27 's

So its best to go for 40 LCA -1 , 50 SU -30MKI and another 40 Gripen which is very much like advanced LCA - 2 but with better design and maintenande........and go for joint design with Gripen team for better LCA -2

Let us not get dragged unnecessarly by some 5Th or 6th Generation Gizmos. Working or Doing business with Russia will always be on terms that are hard and bitter.

I humbly submit that my experience is quite less. But going in to those old years, I have a feeling that Russians bargain hard, Lure India in the name of joint development. When India is finally pulled in to the ring completely, they point out facts that india lacks technical knowledge, skill, and capacity etc. Slowly they will bring in new stumbling blocks, and at that point, our Deciding authority will succumb to political and diplomatic pressure. They finnally given to their demands.

At the end there wont be any Joint development. Russians will take money from us and start production in Russia. How wil this help India. We need to remember that Russians have alredy reduced Indias contribution(Less than 20%) on this 5th gen Planes. Indian money will be used to start work, and finally our money is used to run their companies, which lack real time orders. These real time orders run their military economy.

Initially The whole story revolves around the rosy pictures of the 5th Gen fighter, but behind the screen, the true story is, that their companies lack orders. Once india gone halfway mark in to production, Russians do not hesitate to to HIKE the cost, and our ministers have no other go but to pay for that. This what they have done with Aircraft carrier Admiral Groskove, Escalating costs, wasting too much time

Russians have a tendency to renegotiate cost and terms of agreement once we have made our commitment and cannot back down.

then why should we waste money on another 4.5 generation rafale even when the full lot will be delivered in a time of decade at the time of sixth generation fighters in airspace. We should better invest money in FGFA rather than buying obsolete aircraft which will happen in a matter of years so that we can learning something from 5th generation fighter.
