Rajdeep Sardesai: PM must tell those who spread hate,
by Kousik Keshav on Oct 01, 2014 11:49 AM

Mr Rajdeep Sardesai is a very good Journalist. He need to focus more on current affairs than the thing haapened in the past.It is very tragic that such Journalists unnecessarily involving them self in problems. The episoded of 1984 DElhi and 2002 Gurat and Babri Majid etc are unnecessarily provoked by Journalist. While discussing such incidences one need to focus why they have happened? These things should not have happened but now harping the same appears a bad trend of journalism. The attack on Rajdeep also happened in the same way which need to be condemned. But Mr.Rajdeep also need to follow some norms when conducting true Journalism.Mr.Rajdeep expects P.M. to tell those who spread hate. This should start from Mr.Rajdeep him self.Just like Congress stalwarts make hate speeches true Journalism also need to focus on reality. Will it not be true journalism to condemn congress stalwarts like Manishanka Iyer,Manu Singwi, and many congrss spoke persons who speak whatever they feel about Shri Modijee.Simply reporting comments need not be true Journalism but analyzing it in a justified way is also very important.Still many call Mr Manishankar Iyer for discussions.Such political personalities should not be given importance. But many are deliberately actively recognizing such politicians who are spitting venom for the function of true democracy.

Rajdeep Sardesai: PM must tell those who spread hate,

Rajdeep must know and understand a few things :
1) Mr. Modi is in the US as the Prime Minister of India.
2) He has been legally elected
3) No less than the Supreme Court of India has exonerated Mr. Modi of any wrong doing in 2002. None can deny that 2002 was wrong. But, you cannot keep harping on this issue after even the SC has exonerated a person.
4) Rajdeep's expectations are a bit high if he wants the PM to keep tab of what he is saying and how people are reacting to him. The PM has much larger issues to tackle. But in any case, there was a statement where it was indicated that the PM expressed regret for what Rajdeep faced.Though, the blame is squarely on Rajdeep for what happened.

The other people referred in this post would have had a lot of credibility if they had voiced concerns about 1984 as well with the same force. The pro-Modi Indian diaspora have a right to their own views just as these anti-Modi people have. So, calling their view as "shameful" is blatantly wrong.

You are one who is a hate monger, you are not allowing the people to forget 2002 riots. We have moved on and we won't allow another riot to take place. Don't blame one man for the riots blame the Nation. Blame the political parties who indulge in vote bank politics. Blame the parties who have brought this divide.

Usual Bias of Pseudo Secularists

Rajdeep Sardesi, Barkha Dutt and people like them have spoken and written a lot about the 2002 Gujrat riots as if communal riot took place for the first time under Narendra Modi Govt. Most journalists are shallow. If they do a little research or consult the distinguished journalist Sir Mark Tully they can find out that the 1969 Gujarat riot under Congress rule was far more horrendous than the one in 2002 and also communal riots in Gujarat have been endemic since the 17th century. About Ms. Patankar. She has got a very shallow knowledge about the Indian tolerance and how it has developed and what is the contribution of Hindu ethos for what we all call secularism.
