I think the protests are well contained because the people of China are on the government's side. Everyone would like to experiment with a free democracy, but not by playing in to the hands of deliberate propaganda war. I think people of China wish to give its government time to bring change at its own connivence, just as they did to economic reforms. So I think the democrat protest is not a cause of worry as much as the growing radicalism.
