looted Asia and Africa, the riches found in Europe is all due to earlier loot of their raw material and cheap labour, they made railways and roads to make loot swift and quick.
As regards Education in India , Every Village in India we had a School but Britishers abolished and destroyed that system and patronized their own education to sustain longer in India through english knowing Clerks in their offices to converse with locals . As They had no capability to learn our language and further those who are posted in India , most of them were on punishment posting in India and out lawed persons of their own country.
What else u could expect from such persons ? Brutality , Exploitation, loot, divide and rule, destruction of Culture, etc..

Not only for India, they have gifted good public administration system where ever they ruled, only limiting factor is racist behavior which finally put an end to their rule.India is a land of Wisdom and knowledge but middle east invasions ruined their identity.

"According to economic historian Angus Maddison in his book The World Economy: A Millennial Perspective, India was the richest country in the world and had the world's largest economy until the 17th century AD. British economist, Angus Maddison argues that India's share of the world income went from 27% in 1700 (compared to Europe's share of 23%) to 3% in 1950.[17] Modern economic historians have blamed the colonial rule for the dismal state of India's economy, investment in Indian industries was limited since it was a colony"Wiki. Nothing left to add!

Wished you had also written about the negatives of the rule to balance your thought. What about the treasures looted, the deforestation in the Himalaya's to lay railway tracks back in England, a ship load of silver which was found sunk of late and a host of similar instances which exposes their misdeeds.

Mr.Ram, national anthem was written before partition. Now Sind is in pakistan which shows that it is no longer relevant. besides, it should be in a language which is presently understood by the common man.

Wasim,

Sindh in the anthem stands for Sindhi people, not place. Because the word Maratha, in the same line was never a place or land, but people. As far as language is concerned, they cannot have 'Kya bolti tu' just because it is sung by a Khan, and understood by common man. Take the example of prayers, half of a specific community doesnt understand that language in India, but recite it 5 times a day. Should we talk about changing that?

But I do agree that National Anthem should be changed, because it was originally a 5-paragraph poem written in honour of King George (Bharat Bhagya Vidhata), and it has nothing to do with Indians.

Common man understands it well. It is only some uncommon people protest that they do not understand. Sorry for them. Anthem cannot be changed for some people, they should learn the meaning and the tune and the text.

There was a discussion on Sind sometime back, now it cooled down.Meaning appears that it is praise of a king. I may be wrong.

It is n Bengali.I feel words like Bharatabhagya vidhata,Adhinayaka,to be changed,as they are praising words for British king and in their place new words can be incorporated.
