As PM goes to US with clear cut frame and ideology, it is very distress and disgust to note that-All these so called Indian born -- now well settled prosperous NRI Indians - who have a reasons to meeet our PM. These very people goodd best of education in India nad ow they are singing/parsing. Our PM should ask all these people to come to India and meet him. These people are as good as economic mercenaries. They must be shown their due place

u r so not bright. nri folks not only come to india and meet modi, they spent quality time, donating a full month of their lucrative time, for namo's election campaign. their due place is on the glowing pages of modern indian history. deal with it.

add to this, mr modi should have waited till the lame duck president obama had gone and then decide to meet the new prez. no use glorifying this lame duck obamna who cannot even decide to do any thing in the mid east.and this lame duck denied visa to modiji because some jehadi arseholes told him.
Those whose vision is like this may be correct for them, but for few person it is the prestige of India which was lost long back will come back. Our fellow citizen residing in USA will have an ever memorable for their generation to gather. To my personal believe it will be proved to be ever memorable visit to USA by our (INDIAN) prime minister . Visit to USA will lead to promote better life of human & peaceful co existence in globe.
I am one off those confused Indians! On the one hand,we claim that we have substantial for.exchange,a trained English knowing human resource,a large service sector,......While the other hand sounds like...modi going to "beg" with the world superpower!

No wonder you are confused. :-) Try to think like a grown up developing country citizen instead of a beggar.
Hope PM will soon find time to attend to India's domestic problems. So far, he seems to be more interested in external affairs, just like Chacha Nehru.

If a mere hype gets this attention in USA then india has already arrived. :-)

By external affairs of Chicha Nehru, did you mean Edwina ? Cos that is the only external affairs Chacha can claim to be successful in. His other endeavors like non-alignment and China war have been now proven to be total disasters...
Shri Modiji is far more a pragmatist. His overseas travel is firmly rooted in his desire to get companies to restart their India investment plans that lay in cold storage because of Mannu and his madam.

Dude you need to pay your domestic help yourself. Modi can only help get cheaper oil from Iran, or motivate ISRO or create Make in India initiative or focus on teachers and education improvement. Fair enuf?

Good joke dude... but no one is laughing. It sure proves one thing..you don't know "what you don't know"
History says that USA has never been a trusted partner to India.During the Bangladesh war ,they sided with Pakistan. They have insisted India to talk to Pakistan even when Pakistan embassy was hobnobbing with separatist. They have never commented on incusions of China around Indian borders. The Red Carpet welcome to Mr Modi is only to lure him into the trap of WTO resolution, Nuclear deal (without liability) to sell the obsolete technology Nuclear Reactors,Defense deal (to procure defense equipment from USA at exhorbitant cost on nomination basis), allowing FDI in retail etc.None of the deals are beneficial for India. Now, if Mr Modi does not agree, the Kashmir issue, the WTO sanctions and host of other options are open. So, the spider asks the moth..... Come enter my trap.

USA trustworthy or not is diff topic and US-PAK relations were good in those decades...(for russian reason)now totally opposite...

Good analysis. But the fact is, as the biggest democratic country we cannot afford to ignore the USA too both from political and economic point of view. India needs to engage but be firm on its agenda. That is going to be the key challenge for Modi....
