If women are at risk in this country, so are men and in fact at a greater risk because there is not a single law in this country that is not pro-women and all the pro-women laws are being abused merrily.

Who gave you those stats? Please mention the source and learn to differentiate alleged rapes from the actual ones.

Mr Ghosh, I write on this forum [frequently] with researched data with a hope that it might help friends like you to a better appreciation of the social issues facing us; I have never made a flippant comment!
Now to your question about data [Cp last week’s dailies]. As per NCRB, the total number of rape cases in India last year has gone up to 33,707 from 24,923 of previous year. [Please note this is the number of ‘reported’ cases; quite often people do not report due to social stigma and lot of cases are not registered by police]. M.P. leads with 4,335 such cases, followed by Rajasthan with 3,285 cases, Maharashtra with 3,063 and U.P. Pradesh with 3,050 rape cases. You can always play with data by claiming that U.P., given its large population, has lower %age incidence of rape. The crucial issue is whether we are able to contain it; the answer is NO! In Delhi, 1636 cases [over 706 of last year post do ring the alarm but you should also notice that after Nirbhay incident, police now do register such case without much fuss [hence the increase]. The anonymity afforded to floatsam population in metropolis is another contributory factor. The rape of minors [13,304 cases, an increase of 46%] is another area of concern!

What about those innocent men and their families who had to rot in the jail because of false complaints. What about those men who committed suicide because they were subjected to police brutality and extortion. What about those old parents who lost their young sons just because a woman filed a false complaint.

Google rape cases in India or look at Govt statistics on rape (which is LOW compared to actual happenings).

First acquaint yourself with the ridiculous laws of this country. Do you know that Indian males commit more suicide than females. Do you know that 65000 married men committed suicide in 2012-2013 which is twice or thrice more than the number of women. The media for vested interests are only focusing on the so-called plight of women in India. What about men in this country. They are even more vulnerable.
Do you know that a woman who might be a total stranger to you can file a rape/molestation case against you? Yes, just based on a verbal allegation, you will land up in the jail. It is very easy to read these one-sided stories and get furious but the truth is miles away from what you are forced to understand by the media.

Punish a rapist surely but don't make such laws that can be abused to harass and torture an innocent man. By the way, cite the source from which you have picked the numbers you idiot.
Do you even know that every law in this country is pro-women. 498a, Domestic Violence, Rape laws have been framed in such a manner that they can be abused to the hilt. The biggest threat that India faces is Feminism and the perversion surrounding it.
