Whoever forms the government, yesterday, the common people/working class of Nariman point and other areas has TO bear the burnt due to total chaotic conditions. Who cares for the common man- ( their convenience or inconvenience DOES NOT MAKE ANY DIFFERENCE TO THE PEOPLE IN POWER ) once they casted their votes!!! They have decorated Wankhede with so called VIP/VVIP personalities and celebrities!! What a superb beginning for the common man who voted them to power.

Shiv sena should sit in the opposition.

For their long term gains. They have got 63 seats more than their previous tally.

If sena humbly sits in the opposition it gets more visibility and ppl of Maharashtra can watch tamashe of operation kamala , horse trading , resort politics and all by bjp to get 14seats .
Ppl will then see through the development of bjp.

Formation of the ‘minority’ Governments are the part and parcel of a Parliamentary Democracy, otherwise if no one gets majority in the election, a re-election has to be ordered right away (which is anyway my preferred way). In all cases, Government will be given 15 days to prove its majority on the floor of assembly, and in this case, some Parties may abstain because they don’t want Government to fall (for the fear of re-election). We should know that President has very few discretionary powers, but as far as Governor is concerned, for the formation of State Government, Governor has been given a lot of discretionary powers, and if he FEELS that political situation is such that the largest Party will be able to prove majority (by absentee, etc.), he has power to invite the leader of the Largest Party; he does not need the proof beforehand; that is why it DOES help to be in power at the Center…. In fact, this is how PV Narsingha Rao ran a Central Government for full 5 years... It is nothing new. BUT, here is the catch ….. now, BJP is going to use the same process in Delhi Assembly in just next few days or weeks…! Actually, Supreme Court already acknowledged in the Court on Thursday (while hearing AAP’s case) that formation of minority Government in Delhi is still possible…. And, in Delhi, while proving majority, Congress will abstain, just like NCP will abstain in Maharashtra…because they don’t want electionR

you are blinded by your ideology and hatred. constitutionally the letter of support can be demanded by the governor only if no one stakes claim to form the govt. by default, single largest party gets the invite to form the govt. in 1996, vajpayee headed a govt for 13 days when it was known to everyone that he wont be able to pass the floor test. do you think that then president was a fool?

BJP is no different from Congress, so those who voted to either Congress or BJP are fools.

Any party, even MIM, is better than the so called national parties BJP and Congress, which don't mind selling India if they get power in return.

PHADNAVIS IS FOURTH BRAHMIN CHEIF MINISTER OF MAHARASHTRA.
by shirish on Oct 31, 2014 07:06 PM  | Hide replies

Maharashtra State we Mumbai State, before its bifergation into Maharashtra and Gujarat, on 1.5.1960.
Early in 1945, Bal Gangadhar Kher, BA LLB, High Court Pleader, was first Brahmin Chief Minister of Maharashtra.
Then, in 1950s Murarji Desai, was second Brahmin Chief Minister.
In reorganised Maharashtra state, Manohar Joshi was the first Brahmin Chief Minister, in
Non-Congress Government of Maharashtra, in late 1990. He didn't complete his full term of five years, and Narayan Rane of same party replaced him.
Phadnavis is the second Brahmin Chief Minister of Non-Congress Government, in reorganised Maharashtra State.
If you count Brahmin Chief Ministers, from the beginning of the state, he is fourth Brahmin CM.

Mahratha leaders have been very corrupt owing to their strong connections with the landed gentry and the feudal lords. The appointment of Devendra Fadnavis is good, and there should be no question of overlooking merit and chosing a leader based on his community of birth.

Fadanvis needs to do extra work
by C L on Oct 31, 2014 06:42 PM  | Hide replies

The drama with Shiv Sena that BJP has put forth is really revealing Modi's monopoly tactics. Although this tactics has in favor of India which has out thrown Congress, but playing the same with Sena is wrong and might backfire.

25 yr old friendship broken because Modi wanted CM post in Maharashtra is irony for Hind00s . Sena is only in Maharashtra, where they should have governance and CM post, the center is in capable hands of Modi. Without Maharashtra Sena is without base, how will they sacrifice seats... Instead of thinking this way, Modi-shah decided to go for supremacy is unfortunate.

Now Modi ought to do extra on Hind*tva front and that to sooner as he has gone against Hind00s till now including parting with Sena.

Sena never contested in other states where they have little presence in 1995-2004 as Ss dont want to splt hndu votes and badly affect bjp in election. That greatness SS shown in past ,they never thought bjp different but brother in hndu ideology. but this new hindi media generation ofcource mostly paid dont know any history. Day n night just bashing SS is their work..MIM won 2 seats in maha as hndu vote got splitted. So finally who won? Not bjp and ofcorce not SS
