Recently Scotland had a referendum on Scotland joining Britain. The answer was a clear no by 55% of the people. Why do we hesitate to hold a referendum and make the issue clear and transparent.

10 people will come to your house, drive you away keeping just two and then ask for a referendum on who the owners of the house would be - will you accept?

In Scotland referendum indeed took place, but unlike Kashmir, in Scotland: 1. There is peace (unlike Kashmir separatist rioting). 2. All participate in election (unlike Kashmir where they boycott election). 3. People are not intimidated, people do not indulge in violence, stone-throwing at police (as in Kashmir) 4. In Scotland no one was ethnically or religiously cleansed (as Pundits from Kashmir). 5. In Scotland any one from UK can settle (unlike Kashmir due to article 370).
Unlike Valley, Scotland is not inhabited by intolerant bigots but liberal understanding people.

The recent referendum in Scotland has been discussed profusely by Pakistani politicians and media to justify similar one in J&K. Although these are the very people who still have no genuine democracy, and even now army calls all the shots, undermines elected politicians, and has even taken part in well know and wide ranging extrajudicial killings, infamously that of Baloch leader Bugti. Will Pakistani allow similar referendum in Sindh for Sindhu desh, where in March this year over five million people marched in Karachi demanding freedom? Or for Balochistan, where 10 plus million Balochis have been cruelly crushed? Or in Gilgit-Baltistan?
In Hong Kong, and in the past in other places inluding Tahirya square in Egypt and world over people demonstrate for the election, yet people like Yasin Malik and his HA friends demonstrate against election!
