Beheading is not to be compared with non violence but with other ways of killing. It is probably more humane than stabbing, raping and inserting metal rods, land mines, bullets, poison gas, stoning, etc. It has less chance of incompleteness. It is so shocking because of speed and visible fragmentation, but is probably less painful to victims.
