Ayurvedic treatment is holistic. Proper application of ayurvedic prescriptions can help one to prevent such diseases in the first place itself.

Also ayurvedic treatments are very cheap compared to allopathic , whose medicine prices usually bankrupts one in the process of treatment.

I had a small boil in the back of my neck , which when i consulted with a allopathy doctor, he gave me a prescription with medicines that cost me over rs 300.

At that time I was not financially well set and could not afford the medicines.

I applied a home remedy which I had read in a nature cure book, and the boil incredibly disappeared just like that within a day.

I saved more than rs.300 just by the application of remedies I happened to study in a nature cure book.

This showed me at that time itself that most of allopathy is bogus and waste of one's money.

The common man indeed should consult naturopathy, ayurveda, unani, chinese medicine, acupressure as these are medicinal systems that are effective while at the same time does not burn a hole in your pocket.

First invention was naturopathy, later on Ayurveda and Unani system, but major break through took place with Pencilline and anti-biotics and inventions relating to various body test and surgery. Great achievement for mankind. Every pathy is good and has its own merits and demerits. No doubt for traditional type of diseases, Ayurveda has its own importance.

dear mind clear.. clear your mind. those who follow yoga, diet, exercise are not not prone to today's disease kinds like diabetes, cancer etc... Those who dont follow will only blame ayurveda as they do not use those medicines.

Indians are not aware of their own medicinal systems, and are prone to aping the west. This is due to the effect of foreign invasions which crippled the national confidence.

In the U.S., itself ,the yoga industry over there is worth 27 billion dollars annually.

Westerners themselves are visiting ayurvedic practicioners and clinics in India and raving about in articles. I happened to read an article by a british female tourist who visited an ayurvedic clinic in Kerala and after a treatment course, praised profusely its efficacy, due to the well-being and health she experienced after the treatment.

True. India is in a unique position to be able to use complementary systems of medicine. If people are ready to approach different forms of medicine without any emotional baggage, and rely on evidence based research, we could really succeed in building a good health care system.

You points are valid. People shouldn't criticize any stream of Medicine without testing it.

People like you however good the intentions are spoils it for Ayurveda.
Ayurveda is not and cannot compete with 'modern' medicine. You must project Ayurveda is complimenting and supplementing western medicine. That'll give you more credibility.

This is what the article says. To have an integrated medical system with ayurveda at its core, and allopathy, homeopathy and chinese medicine complementing it.

Allopathy is lacking in holistic treatment. Treatment done for the kidney, can have side-effects in liver or heart. It has its limitations and even the west is now looking to eastern medical systems.
