Am surprised how uninformed fanatics blame nehru for partition of india and other such lies spread by petty politicians. Yes , some of his decisions were wrong but that would be case of ANY head of state who ruled for 17 years.Nehru's contributions far-far-far outweight any wrong decisions.. Many right wingers hate Nehru because he went on to build a Democratic, includive and responsible Naion out of a mess handed over to him and not a Hindu Pakistan as dsired by right wingers. INDIA CAN NEVER PAY BACK THE CONTRIBUTIONS THIS MAN MADE...NEHRU IS AND WILL REMAIN JEWEL OF INDIA..........
I would love to see Nehru's birthplace also converted to a museum sort of. When the birth places of many leaders are converted to Museums and other important landmarks, why not Nehru's birthplace?

It is a mystery where Nehru was born. Not in Ananda Bhavan, which his father got as a gift from his Muslim employer.

Agreed and there they can also build his library and relieve Teen Murti and make it the PM house once again as it rightfully should be rather then wasting such an important place as a mausoleum.
it is absolutely correct and normalto acedemically analyze any period or leadership but it is totally unethical to drag the dead into debates and diatribes which they cannot defend or offer explanations. It is also important to remember that decisions are taken as the situations merit. It is the sincerity in purpose which is imperative and for that matter no freedom fighter can be adversely commented upon.Undoubtedly the paths would have been different but the destination was same.A Prosperous India.

All that is fine but it is equally unethical that an individuals family uses his name and good will to hijack the oldest political party of this country and sideline other freedom fighters as if that family is the only family that fought and brought freedom and then did us all a grand favor by gifting us a democracy although we did not deserve it and then punished us with an emergency when they felt it was time to take away that democracy. Further this imposing of Nehru economic philosophy on the country when we all know it is a misfit and has created a disaster, does ask for an honest debate so we can learn from our mistakes and are not condemned to repeat them. Never again must we allow one family to take advantage of us the way we have with the Nehru Gandhis.
