Science- a bad word that has ruined mother nature
by Rajendran Srinivasan on Nov 08, 2014 08:02 PM  | Hide replies

Recognition thro awards for those with regards to science has to be banned. Science has spoilt our earth's virginity. Science for selfishness of human creatures has spoilt the happiness of trees, plants, and other living entities like birds and animals. Nature doesnt require science. Nature is against humans.

Good but over-rated.

Its dangerous to make one person a demigod like figure. The chap is above average but not among the elite on global stage. The danger is that he is allowed to hijack the grants, which should be going to more younger scientists. It will be informative to see that how is productivity, in solid state chemistry, compares to his funding. Modi has a point, more bright younger people people are being denied because Rao is riding on the coterie of younger scientists.

Incidentally, instances of plagiarism by Rao and his collaborators were reported, and he blamed his juniors. Then one can only conclude that he just gets co-authorship with being actively involved in the project and write-up. That just shows he taking credit away from others. This quite prevalent in Indian institutions. Its best he retires gracefully.
