Superannuation for politicians
by Mohammad Aslam on Jun 02, 2014 11:18 AM

I don't agree with Shatrughan Sinha that 75 people should also be taken as ministers. If superannuation is for employees, why not for politicians? There is a time when your faculties get weak and you need to take rest. Therefore, if Modi has kept seventy-fivers away, good for him. But, why only these people. Kalraj Misra is 72, he too should not have been taken. I think 70 would be fine for politicians. Let them act as what Sinha says gurus, godfathers, father figures. If you don't put age limit in politics, you will never find youngsters leading the nation.

On the 75 years cut-off age
by pa siramu on Jun 02, 2014 03:59 AM

This is good proposal, logical. Govt. servants has a retirement age, paving the way for unemployed for emloyment. Film actors retire early as they loose their charm early, so also politicians shall have retirement age. There are so many new faces who can work with more enthusiasm.

Cut Off age

If age has to do with one's mental and physical status and contributing capacities then not to talk of 75, even 70 is too much. If academicians, scientists and judges be made to retired at 60 or 65 then why not politicians who are supposed to be more active and alert as those who become ministers have to look after huge responsibilities, also retire. It is obvious and but natural that one who is unable to take care of himself or herself, like Najma Heptullah, can not justify his/her obligations. I may add that when Morarji Desai was elected as the prime minister, an Indian scientist, then on Humboldt fellowship in Germany, was asked by his German and other European colleagues again and again "don't you feel that your prime minister is too old?" Further, if age is no criterion then why don't Americans political parties select their old guys as candidates for presidential elections? As age does matter a lot in one's mental and physical capacities, it must matter in all spheres of life and all walks of activities. Needless to add that every one can not become Advani and Narayan Dutt Tiwari who have bitten their ages beyond expectations.

Mr. Shatrughan and his comments
by Jitendra Trivedi on Jun 01, 2014 04:19 PM

Mr. Shatrughan seems to have some personal interest and he is in habit of giving loose statement. The whole majority is achieved only in the name of Mr Modi. If any of the actor had fought election from any other than BJP, would not have been elected.Mr. Shatrughan don't become Shatru of own leader. I am 78 years, I know what all the problems One has to go through after 70. In fact Mr Modi should have reduced from 75 to 70 only. I know you have been proved better as Villain than Hero in film company. I request you to please allow Mr. Modi to concentrate on his work. Congress men, Lalu ,Nitish, Mulayam, Mayavati, Mamta and other selfish people are in sufficient number to disturb Mr.Modi. Please do not show your sentiments for the people who are not as competent as Mr Modi. Let him use his experience. Sorry brother.
