Modi is going to win over his harshest opponents'
by vilas kulkarni on May 28, 2014 05:55 AM

Modi will change entire concept complexion of the contry, only love and affection will flow like ganga and jamuna. Not lethargic but active India. People will ask work to become industrious true citizens of India and they never ask free meal free house --- which will ruin India and population prone to become slaves losing the spirit and anti social too

Modi the winner
by Dhiru Mistry on May 28, 2014 05:40 AM

Time may show wether Modi will be a winner or not. The race has just strted. Lets wait for the final point. But I am happy to see Avantilal Chawla with The C.M. and now P.M. Prof.Chawla has made put on 'Topi-Pagadi' to many top notchers. I wish Avanti Chawla best wishes and so to The Hon.Prime Minister to justify the Gujarat Paghdi.

Modi, the Winner!

Like Ms Kishwar I, too, had been initially critical of Mr Modi and have also felt compelled veering round to support his kind of view of governance. Given the present scenario, he is our best bet. To accuse him to have won with unethical means will be grossly unfair; he is rather a case-study on how best to use “resources” to achieve an “objective”. There lies his strength as a go-getter PM for which all of us need to support him! However, I shall [much like Aldous Huxley] will not turn into an uncritical fan of Mr Modi [like Ms Kishwar]……… for one, I find it indeed difficult to agree that his ‘speeches’ during the campaign were “brilliant”. I have read most of Nehur’s, Dr. Radhakrishnan’s, Vajpayee’s…... No, Ms Kishwar, on this score Mr Modi does not match up to them. Yes, he has connected perfectly with common masses during elections; he has used the thematic content and idiom required at this time but I shall await to hear Mr Modi expound on several subjects of higher value …….. he is a sharp learner and I hope he shall not disappoint us! Ms Kishwar, democracy is about keeping a government on correct course and informed debate; blind support leads to sycophancy and dictatorship ……… that’s what happened in Congress-regime; it is our duty NOT to let it happen to Mr Modi!

"... I have read most of Nehur’s, Dr. Radhakrishnan’s, Vajpayee’s…... No, Ms Kishwar, on this score Mr Modi does not match up to them ..."
You may be right in saying Modi may not match up to other intellectual leaders. However, his speech is meant for common man who do not understand deep meaning of what Nehur’s, Dr. Radhakrishnan’s, Vajpayee’s would have covered. More importantly, Modi has not studies as much others we listed while languages and subject matter on governance may be even better than few of those claimed to be great.

Wow, nice reply. MMBwinde pretending being neutral observer and advises Ms Kiswar, actually by heart he is still anti-Modi, and could not bear praising of Modi. Ne#ru (MMbasterd and idi00t handling kashmir-china-etc- what his beautiful learned speech has helped in this issue. One should have guts to tackle issue and not speech) is the root of all evils of India, his speech was written by others, he considers him good orator and keeps at PAR with Radhakrishnan’s is also bankruptcy of his thought. You have nicely explained him that the simplicity of language is more helpful to reach to hearts of people. too good reply!

Whether he is a favourable PM or not only time will tell. However if there were issues that existed during his tenure as a CM like the riots and even if he is 10% role in the riots, he must be acted upon by the law of this country. I dont have anything against Modi or any other leader. I only want to see our country prosper. If Modi can raise initiatives, where he is accountable and punishable he must be given the same, it applies to all ministers, MP's and MLA's and grass rout leaders in this country. You all represent the country and should have a notion of being our bosses of r lives. Anyways I wish India and the new govt best wishes to take India forward and yes without the cloud of colonistic views

Right said. These thugs were blackmailing India in the name of secularism. And the politicians were puppet in their hand due to vote bank politics. Now their trics, intention, mentality was defeated due to one man Modi. He has shown us the way. We should support him unitedly.

Modi will win over people
by Varadarajan Ravindran on May 28, 2014 12:49 AM

Narendra Modi will win over peoples of Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Bhutan, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Burma, to list the least among the nations. These peoples will try to merge their nations with India in the long run under Modi's style management. These populations will not tolerate a low income when their counterparts in India enjoy incomes an order and a half magnitude higher (32 times; nearly 10 x square root of 10). So the article is correct in several ways.

Madhu, a brilliant daughter mother India can be proud
by raya simha on May 27, 2014 07:39 PM  | Hide replies

I see a Madhu Kishwar, totally different. I subscribed her magazine Manushi to four of close family friends and repented it and threatened to cancel the subscriptions. That was about ten years ago. I met her in a conference in Houston (in 2010?). My disgust softened a bit. She asked me to come to Delhi for the next conference she was planning. I did not bother to respond. Now I see a great, a precious daughter of Mother India. I would be delighted to have a sister like her. A fearless, very talented writer. I loved every sentence she uttered in this interview to Rediff. I genuinely look forward to meeting her next in Dallas or Houston. I am ordering her book Modi, muslims and Media. TRN Rao, Ph.D.

The same US now offering visa. HOw did his guilt cleared now as soon as he became PM? If you stand by your conviction on what you believe is true, then you must not change your stand. Is US worth betting on integrity? Do you apply same yard stick on US that is behind what happened in almost all muslim countries? If you are not, why then use them as your defense against Modi?
