We should not jump to conclusions and believe the story of criminal blindly.. their could be many more angles to the incident, other than Police taking bribe to let the criminal go.
For example, the team might be having good leads to reach the kingpins of gang, so the gang sacrificed one of their foot soldier to get the Police team out of their way through conspiracy.
Other angle could be that, Police team was not having enough information to apprehend the suspect, so they let him go. Now when the suspect is in custody, as a revenge against Police and demoralize them, he want to destroy carriers of few Policemen by making allegations of corruption.
So better presume people innocent, until proven guilty through irrefutable evidence, and thus until then only take reasonable precautionary measures.
And this is really "News"??? Everyone in this stinking land knows that taking bribes is standard operating procedure for the goons and thugs masquerading as the police????

people of Dehli had voted for Kejriwal in state elections, but BJP downed him, now in Jail & Gadkari is a Minister of centre. People have no fear now?
Punish them without any mercy. If one is ready to do anything for money, he has no right to live with the society. They should be imprisoned for life, literally or executed as they are supposed to be protectors of law.

The perpetrators of such crime should be hanged in public. A team of police officers in mysore were involved in similar crime. Out of 3 crore 27 lakh seizure they were kind enogh to record 20 lakhs as seizure officially and the rest was appropriated by them. The issue came out since the victim had high connection with CM of Kerala. These people are attempting to such crimes because some politicians are shielding them for mutual beniffit.
