from selling tea, then traveling and undertanding the country, mopping floors, distributing papers each step one at a time appears Full of EFFORT,CAREFUL PLANNING, DESIRE AND AMBITION. Goes to show the power of each person. The congress tried so hard to implicate him and ruin his political career. Yet he has survived. He is a story of Survivor and shows the potential of each Indian. Also you can achieve anything without reservations!!

Wow. So we can teach our children to sell tea, mop floors.
Doing just that, can earn you the country's highest position.
NO need of pursuing education...
Also, if you get too educated and start complaining, you have to be very careful, else such guys will send you in jail..

very sad that you don't understand the value of Labor. We need to teach our kids the value of labor. Keep feeding your kids with silver spoon and then they will have no idea of how to eat when that is taken away. give your kids survival skills. My parents gave me education but I don't think I can successfully mop floors for the realization of a bigger dream. most people like me will quit for a better life.

Excellently stated, no manual labor is beneath any person in our Volksgemeinchaft we shall create, no Indian will be considered to be part of the National Community if he does not value manual labor and treat it with the utmost respect.

He who perseveres succeeds,
The farmer, the laborer, the soldier, the industrialist and the banker are all equally important and each shall respect the work of the other and help each other as Indians.

That is the new spirit which we will bring to India.

Modi or not, I think if you teach the kids to sell tea, mop floors they probably will have more chances of succeeding in life than ones who learnt only to read text books and regurgitae. At best they can write comments on others who mopped the floors -just like you and I are doing here

Get to work today itself. Do you have a job ? Are you paying your taxes and following the laws ? Good if you are !

First try to see if you have some old clothes and other items.
Catalog them and go to a slum near your house and distribute them.

Also make sure you are getting enough exercise everyday and stay away from all bad habits.

Make it a habit to read a bit about Indian history everyday
Contribute to organizations like Shakara Eye foundation which does cataract surgery for free in remote parts if India.

Do all this and report back to me.

by Vishnu Sharma on May 23, 2014 09:56 PM  | Hide replies

To lead us to greatness by dint of example,
His whole life is that of perseverance, patient observation followed by brilliant and timely action.

All Indians should seek to emulate him in thoughts and deeds.

Everything for Our People and our Country should be our motto going forward.

It is truly an inspirational journey and I would say a Miraculous journey. It has really inspired millions of teenage youth that if you have firm resolve and belief in yourself, nothing is out of reach. Yes, it takes time but as long as you are patient and on right path your destined place will find you eventually rather than you find the place.
Modi is truly a sculpture of Firm Resolve and Self Belief, Really a man in a true sense.
He bulldozed everyone who come in his path to serve the nation, he is a mixture of Chanakya and Chandragupta. He knows how to defeat his opponent and how to gain support of people, the way he answered Advani in that first emotional speech in parliament, everyone just stunned including Advani. I really feel proud that he will be leading this great Nation to newer heights.

Modi

Let us not make autobiography and biography on this leader. he became PM, he quit CM-ship, and now he had eye for PM. Does anyone know BJP hired US management company to put election game. If management company takes in charge to hold election, this is mastermind stroke. But to be very frank, man should keep his foot on ground and should not eye flying in helipad or aeroplane to understand the Indian mind. Never Modi visited any state, so how did management company ask to play a mediator.

Intellectuals and the media thought the public are fools
by Ramadas Kathiru on May 23, 2014 05:33 PM  | Hide replies

For years the so called intellectuals and the media tried their best to discredit this man. The ordinary man in the street just kept waiting for him to show up and they embraced him on his first appearance.

The intellectuals and the media are living in fear of the minorities; they might lose their limbs if they spoke the truth.

Nothing strange, People in India are generally illiterate or semi-literate(Most Jan Sahghees. Modi has won by showing his strong Hindu leanings by visiting Mandirs etc. India is a Hindu Majority country, what if Modi won?

and exactly How Literate is your MadaM?
BTw Indira Gandhi also used to visit temples. that does not make people illiterate. shows your illiteracy. just getting a degree does not make people literate. it only gives you a job.

It is indeed a superlative effort
by Soderling on May 23, 2014 05:15 PM

There is no doubt that his life has been a hard struggle and he has come all the way to the top from the bottom of the ladder. His is an exception to the general rule. He has been lucky in the sense circumstances favourably co-ordinated his ascension from stage to stage. From an ordinary Swayamsevak to a Prime Minister, it is indeed a remarkable journey where Modi has persevered to realize his lofty ambitions. It is another matter that on his way to the top, he had to indulge in all sorts of political manoevuring, brinkmanship and back stabbing to attain his goal. But still we have to give it to this man that it is an superlative effort where he has used his innate intelligence, craftiness, guile to go all the way to the top.
