Analysis: What's behind the Naveen wave in Odisha?

apart from those points that are listed another and most significant point seems to be 'the Maoist Factor' [ Likewise, there were just two districts affected because of Maoist activities in 2000. That number has gone up to 18 now. The state government has failed to curb the Maoists. In fact, in two to three districts, there’s no administration apart from the Maoist rule.” ]. Where there is rampnt poverty there seems to be a significant influence of Maoism

Orissa is 30 years back compared to many other indian states
by jet on May 24, 2014 03:47 AM

It is very unfortunate that orissa people choose mediocrity. Looks like they dont have any alternative also. BJP-Modi should focus on this state and bring it out of the proverty and under-development. Orissa is at same state and place where it was when Naveen became CM 15 yrs ago. He is wining because of his clean image and no other alternative. Oriss people and state deserve better.

Nothing Great as Odisha is the Poorest State in India

Why boast of winning elections again and again?

Look @ the status of the state of Odisha - it remains to be India's most backward and poorest state. Where is the greatness of Naveen after 15 yrs of ruling?

1. Youths of Odisha are forced to go out of the state to other states and cities to meet their ends meet.
2. Many families and youths are working as bonded laborerers in AP, Karnataka, TN, Maharastra...
3. Many families selling their babies and even women to flesh trade to feed themselves.
4. There is hardly any good road networks to districts, towns, bolcks and panchayats.
5. Electricity never reached to villagers and farmers and whatever is there is very eratic.
