They should be brought forcibly into mainstream by giving clear mandates like this time.

Strange analysis
by Vish on May 20, 2014 12:44 AM

Author claims no Modi wave or even breeze. How then did BJP win 1 seat in a state where it is non-existent & traditionally never won? How come its vote share is higher then that of Congress, despite Congress having a longer presence in TN? BJP has started from an almost non-existent state to winning 1 seat. This is thanks to Modi. Even Jaya knew that & trained her guns on him during ending stages of campaigning.8cQWC

She can accomplish NOTHING with Central Govt!
by Guru on May 19, 2014 11:26 PM

Jaya can wish anything she likes but nothing is going to happen her way. Even with 37 MPs she can do NOTHING at the center..ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.. She can not even have a single minister in the cabinet...forget her PM's aspirations...one could only laugh at it..

Even if Modi likes, the BJP will keep a distance from Jaya knowing very well her temperament and behavior and will NEVER forget how she ditched them in the past and brought down Vajpayee's government. Even in Rajyasabha they will opt to keep her away and prefer to lure smaller and reliable parties for outside support for passage of important bills etc.

One could only feel sorry for TN's people...The Almighty has thought of other ways...

But we are dependent on Karntaka for Kaveri water and Andhra for Krishna water. We cannot drink USD or Euro or Dirhams.

Regional parties are a burden on the nation.
by Piyush Bhargava on May 19, 2014 07:16 PM  | Hide replies

People favouring regional parties must now realise that theyu will be left out if they do not join the mainstream. The country is not willing to wait for regional parties.Every body wants to move ahead. The states where regional parties are dominant will simply be left behind. WE have to start thinking as one nation now.Progress or perish.

TN is one of the most industrialized state eventhough it was regional parties running the show for more than 4 decades. TN is way different from the other states. Mainstream parties are like monopolies - you know what they do when they polarize their positions. Neither BJP nor congress are corruption free.

What is development, giving free food to starved people or buying vote @200 rupees from poor people.

People from my area were also given money after 9 pm by the area orgaizer. My family was also given but I refused and escaped bcos I know the organizer personally. I do notaccept the victory and the margin as legal.

Amma wave
by Rationalist on May 19, 2014 06:21 PM  | Hide replies

It was just that Amma wave was much stronger than Namo wave as the Tamil voter wanted to see their own candidate at the throne of Dehli. Basically TN is the pioneer in regional politics and average TN voter still not aligned even a wee bit with National politics and want their regional party leader to dominate at the center and dictate terms in National policies. Sadly that is not going to happen this term.

The message is loud and clear to those who play regional politics. Either fall in line or be left out.Stop popping up your regional leaders.
