Modi is called a dictator because he utters words like main yeh karoonga. What about Sonia who controlled MMS by remote and making every file pass thro her and every decision only if accepted by her. She has also never disclosed her dual citizenship if any. So is she is a democrat as far as Karnad is concerned

People like Karnad (calling themselves Intellectuals) have no business but criticize modi. There is nothing good about modi apart from 2002 riots as far as these people are concerned. Has this man even visited Gujarat before criticizing? I saw good roads, running water and round the clock electricity, with so many people from UP, Bihar and every corner of India working there, to boot!

Rediff only publishes readers views which they like, rest are ignored under the pretext of abuse. Why do yu clamour for freedom of the press when you do not give free to an individual to express his views on your post.

Karnad sums up the issue very well, and he has the guts to call a spade a spade. Knowing how the Hindutva mob participates in 'debates', I'm sure they'll react with verbal and (I hope not) physical violence to any such views.

So then why does no onw take responsibility for 1984
by Mr Walker on May 21, 2014 08:50 AM

If his line of argument is to be considered then why does the Congress not be held responsible for partition and all other riots including 1984 ?
There is something very disturbing about these people who ignore every single mistake of the so called secular parties ?

The Utter Boorshness of Karnad's secularism
by Girish K on May 21, 2014 08:25 AM

Girish Karnad will be remembered for his uncultured behavior during the Udaipur literary event. Instead of criticizing V S Naipaul, he insulted himself with his behavior. He lets his hatred for RSS/BJP cloud his views.

He and the other secular Leftists have helped each other get literary awards and govt largesse.

Karnad: why is he not responsible for that three days of rioting (too)??

Dude, then why is the UP govt not responsible for Muzzafar Nagar riots? Why is Assam govt not responsible for the riots there?
