No action on EC, only educated and conscious people ask their name, others do not have any grudge or complaint. It suits to ruling party, as educated people normally are not with govt. as govt. does not look after them, they want for their vote bank only poor and uneducated or caste based.

They are also largely depending on illegal immigrants who easily gets ration cards, Adhar cards and voters identity card as politicians ensure that they get all this to enable them to support them.
I am very sorry with the judgement of Bombay High court which rejected petition filed by known actor Amol Palekar for not finding his name in the voters list. The court has pass over the responsibilities of checking the name to voters thereby confirming the stand of election commission. Are officials of election commission are not accountable and responsible for their lapse and casual approach deprieving gunuine voters to not exercise their right to vote ? I had also filed form no 6 well within time with my family However only my name was not appeared in the voters list. The decision of court will passing responsibilities to the voters will encourage election commission staff to commit more blunders in future without worrying for any action against them by anyone.
Anupam you are absolutely right. Besides, with ECI headed by retired Baboos who have always shied away from any kind of audit of their work and performance, you can't expect a meaningful response. What we need here is a PIL in the Supreme Court of India.

Almost all Baboos are GENERALISTS, and most of them are also loyal to the reigning group of politicians. We need specialists as Election Commissioners, and the work of the Election Commission needs to be scrutinized, at least periodically, by a person in the higher judiciary.
I had checked my name in Voters List in Karanataka Chief Election Officers webbsite much much earlier to voting day. You need to enter your Voter ID as given in Voter ID card. Is this facility available in other parts of India? Why educated people who have access to intterrnnet are not ensuring their name in Voter List?

You should ask a different question? Does every voter (e.g. in a slum cluster, or in a remote village) have access to a computer and Internet? What percentage of the population has this advantage?

How many persons, even "educated", eligible to be voters have access to Internet?

Absolutely; there is a website for the Kerala electoral officer too; and it works the same way.
the website tells you what to do if your changed your address since the last election; I followed the process, and things worked like clockwork.
Regarding the issue of incomplete addresses in lists, there were credible reports that voter lists were misused in 2002 for targeting communal attacks; personal names provide indications of one's community. Complete and verified lists, free for anyone to download, might be bad for health.
My name and my wifes name was in the previous Voters list and we both I had casted out vote last West Bengal assembly election. As there was error in the address I had submitted For 8 for correction but my name has not been included in the current voters list. I will file a case at RTI to get a clarification from ECI for the reason for deleting my name from current voters list.
