BBC projected her long back
by mahendra nayak on May 06, 2014 03:01 PM  | Hide replies

BBC watched closely Priyanka when Rajiv got martyred. Their analysis was correct. They saw something in her. And it is happening.

Useless attempt
by ashish nigam on May 06, 2014 02:05 PM  | Hide replies

The problem with cong think tank is that they think modi became so big because of media. but the fact is that media can make someone big but ppl will believe the media only if there are substantial proofs of that. Modi had a gujarat story that ppl have seen and hence believed media but what Rahul had, nothing and hence failed though he looks more like his father compared to this priyanka like indira.
Like rahil priyanka has also done nothing, hence Media attention will work against her instead of in favour. The more media praises her, the more ppl will question its authenticity. The same could have happened with modi but he had gujarat progress to counter ppls question. Priyanka will be another failed attempt by media after rahul. Period.

Who has seen gujarat and what is special about gujarat. It is state like Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamilnadu, Andhra Kerala etc. The media created the hype. It got overdosed and got peaked early. So corrective action started. It is priyanka now. When sonia entered active politics, NDA downplayed her, modi attacked her, but she did damage NDA then.

oh dear... In TN our power cuts started right after the elections... GDP of gujarat is higher than TN.. their agriculture growth is also spetacular in Indian context.. Karnataka's growth is bangalore centric and it is backward upnorth where as Kerala owes all its wealth to expatriates with no industry worth writing home about... On top of it all the most lucrative business of alchohol does not fill the coffers of Gujarat.. but then all these facts are waste of time as you have decided Modi is bad and then you are looking for reasons to prove the same.

TN's power crisis is also because of high consumption esp by high capacity users. TN has highest number of factories and employees in manufacturing sector (about 20% which is twice that of GJ). GSDP is number two behind MH, where as GJ was higher 20 years back. HDI of TN is second only to KL, whereas GJ has hunger index equal to somalia. Agricultural growth of GJ is due to low base, just like BR GDP growth. TN still has highest productivity of cereal crops which is food security for the country. PJ, WB, TN , AP are bread baskets of the country. Selectively picking data will not hide the fact that GJ was well developed even earlier, where as by any stretch TN wasn't more developed than UP - BR in the 70s.

It is clear - you had NEVER been to Gujarat since years.
During COng raaj Gujarat was Power starved state - now it is not - In the contrast - Maharshtra which was power plus state once - faces acute power shortage now - thanks to continued Cong raaj.
Cong was so much jealous & afraid of industrial development in Gujarat, that they have literally stopped construction of industries in Gujarat on basis of 'Environment Clearances' from Central Govt.
Go & check it out.
We have had a taste of MOM-SON indirect rule for 10 years. Whole nation is in hay-wire condition & continuation of dynasty will be last nail in the coffin. So take care.

PRIYANKA CRAZE IS TRP DRIVEN MEDIA HYPE DEVOID OF SUBSTANCE
by damodaran mohan on May 06, 2014 01:39 PM  | Hide replies

Unlike the case of Kejriwal the Priyanka phenomenon is more of a media hype on TV channels as it is the case of Narendra Modi. Only difference is that in case of P it is not orchestrated by big money bags as it is in case of Modi but is more TRP driven by TV channels themselves falling for her good looks and charisma. Furthyer,P craze is certainly not going to transform into votes for sure. Political or intellectual content wise her brother Rahul G is far ahead and as shrewd as his dad Rrajiv. In fact Rahul is a visionary like his dad and there is just no comparison between Rahul and Priyanka who looks more akin to her mom Sonia, a manipulative type. Now that we know Sonia better it could be more likely that Rajiv got into Bofors tangle because of her. Similarly why it cannot be that negativity associated with Rahul could be due to compulsions of these two scheming women. Even in Amethi it is seen that after Modi’s onslaught when P realized that the family is indeed on a losing wicket she has now started playing emotive card of her late dad Rajiv.

So was modiji phenomenon. It peaked early because of over dose. Media has to live with TRP. Priyanka is giving TRP now.

Priyanka Vadra in place of Kejiwal
by sanchit agarwal on May 06, 2014 01:34 PM  | Hide replies

Media have find priyanka Vadra to fight somewhat (on media only & not really)against modi. the shift was so fast on TV especially ABP & AAJ Tak that many people could not notice it. the height is that Mrs Vadra is working in only two seats. This is ridiculas. even puny prasson vajpeyi has dumped kejriwal.

The depth to which media has sunk was visible a few days back,if you were unlucky enough to catch a female HeadlinesToday reporter describing the 'barefoot' walk of Priyanka, with the camera following her live...So much prose about Kolapuri chappal, the heat, the great woman 'enduring' the barefoot walk and then some other Cong worker in the locality getting a pair for her from his house, etc. It was like the reaction of some teenagers when they see Justin Beiber. The standards of our reporters seem to have hit a new low.Sad.

Media is biased against BJP & Modi
by amar saraswat on May 06, 2014 01:04 PM  | Hide replies

The media in India is very biased against BJP. Times now for a brief period before 10th April was supporting BJP but it has again gone back to being anti-BJP. People like Vinod Mehta of outlook, Kumar Ketkar, Sankarshan, Vinod Sharma who regularly come on English channels and call themselves as neutral observers always speak in favour of congress and against BJP. The kind of choicest words they use against Modi and BJP leaves a very poor taste and speaks of their upbringing and etiquettes. Hats off to Modi that despite everybody abusing him he is absorbing it all and is putting up a brave face. And these people make us too feel that if we vote for BJP then we are also communal. Which means that you can vote for any party as long as it is congress. Just like Henry Ford used to say that your car can be of any colour as long as it is black. I want to ask a question that in a democracy if I do not have a right to exercise my opinion against corruption and gross misgovernance of the congress and if I am going to be labelled communal if I vote for BJP, then declare India to be a monarchy. Where only one family will rule the country. Lets not waste money in holding elections then.

Media created her. same media will dump her tomorrow!
by shyamprasad acharya on May 06, 2014 12:56 PM  | Hide replies

Some times we wonder how media plays such a horrible role in these elections. Looking at issues raised by them to the stakeholders, one can be sure about their purportedly beneficial agenda. Look at them it is the same media which states that C ongress has run out of steam and leadership and also it is a family centric. It is the same media which paints as a great historic moments when priyanka hardly utters few words in some campaign, they start projecting her as serious threat to BJP. Doesnt even shy from asking if BJP is on back foot. Media wants news. We would have wished if media had a consistency in its stand. wish it had asked few questions to priyanka on her husbands raise in real estate business. Wish they had asked her few questions on Nirbhaya. Wish some body had asked her inflation. Wish somebody had asked her how she earns for lively hood for her kids education. Wish somebody asked her if she had worked on our judicial. Wish somebody asked her if she ever worked in any organisation. When will media ask her how she will improve our higher education. If we didnt get any answer from her, should we even compare her to Mr. Modi, who ran 3 term government at Gujarath? Or look at arnab who wants to paint a failure to Modi in case if Smriti looses in One Amethi and probably forget landslide victory in any other areas. It went to rescue of Rahul when he successively failed to mobilise any result for congress in most of the assembly elections.
