In your statistics you may be highlighting the numbers not may be the riots, it may police cases registered on atrocities or some other causes. Riots occurred in Assam, UP, Gujarat, etc. but there is no such riots occurred in other parts of the country. So your article and finding is baseless. Better don't post like this articles which lead into peoples misconception about riots. Political rivalries are crimes but not meant as riots. It may be big or small. Don't fuel it by mean minded articles. Research is good but positiveness is far better than negativeness and apply effort for goodness not to reflect the bad and wrong sides to the people.

Exactly .. this is very misleading or rediff has just picked something else and called it riots database. I have been living Mysore for my life. Last riots I have seen was during Babri Masjid time. In just 2012, this map says there were 102 riots in Mysore .. really where??

When two groups based on certain ideology, religion, ethnicity, region, language etc fight each other are called riots.
Riot are not always between two religion group. DO not blame writer for your igonrance.
What is mean by riots, in this report? It looks completely misleading. Kannur is never a riot area and there was not even a single communal riot in last 10 years. But the report tells that there is 506 riots... How is it possible?

chwetiye, there was only one riot in gujrat in last 12 years that too started by peaceful people.
Ind1ans are cast1st, and h1ndu - 1ssalam discr1m1naton is the most pol1t1cally exploited.
Importantly its not that h1ndus among them are united. In fact they are the most cast1st people as they have created a huge hierarchy and promoted a culture where every ca5t discriminates against the other. I think same goes for musl1ms, they also do the same thing as far as in Ind1a.
Basically as long as ind1ans get to vent their frustration somewhere they are sold for this divion theory. poor people poor morals substandard ethics, only f@ke patr1otism and overhyped egos
is this secular bharat where mostly all leaving people are peace full
