It is mostly happening in North India including Bihar, Bengal and UP because historically women were kept in Parda and were not allowed to interact with males. This practice became more prevalent when Mugals invaded and it was to protect the womenfolk. This also has a direct corelation to illiteracy and poor economic condition of these areas. This can be contained only thru education and strict enforcement of the law
There is no state where rape has not been reported. It is sad for a country where womanhood represents Primordial Energy to be revered and harnessed righteously for righteous goals.A country where people were used to be sent to respected societal ladies to learn etiquette and cultures interactions, a country where women were messengers of divinity and character building stories through various dance forms in the temples and in various social functions, and where the girl child is worshiped as goddess incarnate during Durga Pooja. If we continue to defile the motherhood and womanhood we are sure to be doomed soon. All male children by the time they are about ten years should be very frankly told as to how they should respect women and as to how preserving their chastity is important for a good. healthy and prosperous society and a nation.
According to the map rape per million of people in U.P. is much less than in many other parts of India. Why then this whew and cry about rape U.P. in the media? Mulayam Singh Yadav is perhaps right in his statements. I am not condoning even a single rape.

is guided in its endeavours by the likes, prejudices and the value system of the Indian middle class.
The sentiments of the poor (who constitute nearly three-fourths of the total population) are not regarded as relevant by the media since they do not spend a fraction of what the minority middle class does on it.
And thus it is that one incident or a couple of incidents of rape of middle class women are consistently projected as being immensely more injurious to the nation's social fabric than the thousands of incidents of rape of poor disadvantaged women that occur across India each day !
now media will do everything for this rape case. There are 12% are rape cases in whole of the crime in India. Why they are not looked after. Media's and Bollywood's objective is to gun down someone else. Give sympathy to girl and torcher others. Bollywood is behind this strongly. They are the most corrupt people in India. They are looked after by media and politicians because they contribute to the election's money which is required to bribe the people for vote. Media is a big boot licker of Bollywood, from Bollywood they earn the most by marketing and radio is a big marketer for them. Bollywood pays hefty money for this to radio and media. Tell me if media was not knowing everything. Infact, India was knowing everything and India have earned the luxury of speaking English fluently through me. Media is fooling people for the sake of putting barriers in my life. Media and Bollywood doesn't care how my life should go, what they want is to save them and earn maximum money possible.
Dear All south Indian friends, who are complaining Bimaru states of UP and Bihar for highest rapes figures, just put atleast once the cursor on the map. To my surprise the rapes in eastern Up and Bihar in lowest range. The rapes in Kerla and Andhra are fives fold more, however in TN it is almost same. I am sorry to say my state Rajasthan has comparatively higher rate, probably its because of our feudal mentality. North eastern states of course has highest rate of rape per million population
North Indian culture is totally different from south indian culture. Actually North India and South India are two different countries. North Indians have major issues with all modern concepts and values like rights of women, rights of kids, rights of citizens, law and order, justice etc etc. We in south cannot live with these people.
