The article does not explicitly talk about his distinctions, while infact it should. That he stands vindicated today is not a sensible thing to say at all. Appears to me his foreign policy was infact not well thought out coz given the context of that day his advocacy of better ties with Pakistan, China and US was not appropriate at all.

operation successful, but patient is dead! that is the case with our foreign policy! all these 65 years since independence! the few friends we have are because of the historical fiendship that preceeded independence on account of cultural factors!

i must admit that the IFS officers had no roles in the slide!

Nehru and his descendants have acquired the "brains" from the moghul invaders and the political acumen of Mir Qasim....but the only difference is that his family and descendants stab you in the throat or to make it easier, they slit your throat inch by inch.
