why all of sudden these incidents
by satyananda rao on Mar 08, 2014 04:20 PM

there seems to be some kind of synchronism in these accidents.
they were not happening earlier . why these things are happening only in the last one year?

there seem to be some attempts for indigenization of some vital components which might have failed and exploded. submarines hardly age and can be maintained if original spares are purchased. Definitely some indigenization of vital components seem to be happening. Check material gate passes and stores records . facts may roll out

Under construction

This vessel is under construction and like any other construction sites, there are umpteen number of hidden dangers are here in this site also. Making it safe is the work site is the duty of the site operators and taking precaution is the duty of the workers. There are gas cylinders, electrical wires, moving cranes with heavy load etc are all normal dangers that is seen at work sites. There is no need to make such hue and cry about a freak accident. There are hundreds of people die on the roads of India due to various reasons and it won't make headlines? Why this accident is more important? Like all accidents, there should be an inquiry to pinpoint the fault and take remedial measures is what is required.Media should not sensationalize such small issues.

This incident would never have been as important as it is now, not withstanding your explanation, for the simple reason that this has not been an isolated one. There have been so many accidents in the last one year that makes even this probably genuine accident an incident of grate suspicion.

Inhaled "carbon dioxide" and died? What nonsense! The officer was hit on the chest by the regulator valve of the gas which flew off from the cylinder head. It was a freak accident. Carbon dioxide is not poisonous. If the news media makes such startling WRONG claims, attention will be diverted away from the real reasons for the plight of the Navy and other defence forces, such as: serious lapses and failures in modernization, upgradation, maintenance, upkeep, procurement of essentials, and so on. Thereby, persons responsible for criminal negligence would escape punishment.

LBSastry, central cabinet minister for railways, resigned following a train accident in Tamilnadu!

i felt, it was not necessary but the resination drama was stage managed by Nehru to keep morarji, kamaraj away from contending to throne i.e PM's post. and keep it safe for indira gandhi!

spate of accidents with Navy does not daunt Antony, and he keeps going! lot of change in perception!

There is no valid way to generalise from the mere news of an accident, and such solutions as moral responsibility have only a political effect but cannot contribute to prevention. Genuine responsibility has to be physical, not moral, which would necessarily have to depend on findings rather than quick reactions of the general population.

One has to face the simple fact that almost every work has a risk of accidents. Safety precautions depend on a scientific attitude to risks rather than an emotional one. In fact emotion can only degrade the quality of response to such accidents.

Indian politics encourages pretense, make believe, and emotional thinking. What the country needs is keeping cool heads, unemotional attitudes, scientific thoroughness, and the patience to allow the scientific processes to take place, instead of jumping to quick invalid generalizations like "ISI", "Minorities", etc.

Conclusions are a mere waste of time if not derived from thorough investigation. People far away from the accident situations cannot contribute anything useful except making a lot of suspicions and allegations.

We s'd outsource the navy to the professionals - either the Chinese or the Pakistanis.
Enough of this callousness and incompetence
