We have N number of syallabii under various universities and one can find the gap so wide in terms of standards, if examined sincerely. In general students who are keen to pick up a job will prefer a shorter duration course, but the fact is, barring very few syllabii most of the syllabii fall short of standard which forms the basis to produce quality.Not only US but compare many western syllabii including East European syllabi, one can find the result. In international arena we want to be treated at par to westeners in terms of pay and compensation but do not want to undergo the scheme they do. This is contraditory.Prof Apoorvanand should ask handful of entrants to do some exercise on 9th or 10th standard CBSE/ICSE before rediculing the subject. University is meant for students and all staff are beneficiaries of what the students pay from their pocket; No teacher has any moral authority or right to say that the quality of students what they produce lack in quality or value and if it is the case then first and foremost duty is to enhance the quality of teachers; Just because the teachers and colleges cant makeup their shortcomings these guys want students to pay from their pocket for another 12months and continue with same old teachers who themselves are lackluster in imparting any quality;
University is meant for students and without them teachers stand no-where because students pay and staff earn their living out of them,hence quality is lacking in teachers and there they need to go more training by paying money from their own pocket;
Indian students need only three years and its more than enough to measure with any world-standard if right quality of teachers and infrastructure are provided; Indians are far more intelligent and capable than foreign guys anyday anywhere given a level playing field;
