Campa Cola residents fight for justice
by P S on Jun 22, 2014 12:58 PM

The most of the buildings recently constructed are having one or more irregularities and the building proposal department which is the most corrupt department of BMC is aware of it and with their blessings and ignorance things get regularised. All the architects are also aware of it but they have their business and professional interest to not to object or protest against such irregarities, Campa Cola residents have spent chores of rupees for legal fight to save their homes but inIndia we don't have many legal expert who knows the law and rules the architects know and so far none of the leading architects have come to their help. Honourable Supreme Court has suggested govt to find a solution but they are not interested in it. In Mumbai you can very well encroach government land and even live in hut nets of barely 50 sq. feet, you will be rewarded with a ownership flat of 270 sq. feet free of cost. The government for political gain can regularise hundreds of illegal buildings in PimpriChinchwad and Ulhasnagar but can not help residents who are staying paying all type of taxes for years just because they don't form a mass vote bank for them ? It is time people shoul use their power under RTI and expose the irregularities in the building construction and book the culprits for their offence. My all sympathies and we'll wishes to Campa Cola residents in their fight for survival.

why the B.M.C has made this a prestigious issue is hard to understand and the most surprising part is that no politician of any party has said or sympathised with nthe reswidents.Where are the officials who sanctioned the flats and where is the builder who built these flats, first catch them and prosecute .Meanwhile leave the residents alone and concentrate on the adarsh building

Th endeavour of authorities to cut gas connection, electricity & water is grossly inhumane & & uncalled for.It is difficult to understand why the authority is so anxious to obey the order of Supreme Court in this particular case where as Supreme court has given ruling to demolish all illegal constructions but no effective measure is initiated yet.In fact unauthorized & forcible land grabbing must be condemned but authorities in the country in all states approach this issue with political consideration only.More over in this particular case there was no evil or dishonest intention on the part of the innocent inhabitants rather the administration is at fault as it did not take any corrective measures against the defaulters all these years.Govt & law will admit that there has been lacuna on the part of the govt & once the inhabitants are evacuated they must be compensated with adequate dwelling houses before that.More over authority should not utter the name of SC as per their convenience only rather they should be honest in obeying the orders.Rule of law must prevail, but it must be in Toto.Authority is really fearful in acting against criminals, powerful politicians,& powerful officials.Money also plays a big role.If the authority is so genuine, why there is huge theft of electricity, huge rise in rape & murders, huge corruption, huge illegal occupation of land & black money? The fact is - innocent suffers & hundred excuses in non action agains

They form a strong vote bank and all the political parties want to pamper them at the cost of honest citizens who pay their taxes.

Campa cola crisis

It is easy to destroy a building; The huge housing complex can be destroyed withing a week or month, but what is the use? When the building complex was built in violation of the law, the authorities slept and the supreme court wants to destroy it for violation of the Law. Every body makes mistakes as humans are always err. We must see what is the use of demolition of that building. Huge waste of resource, money and time. Supreme court must consider this issue humanly. Law books may not have compassion. Even those who face death penalty have been given mercy. Just thing about on the line of mercy and compassion.

Humane considerations

Whatever may be the reason leading to the eviction of the residents & demolition of these apartments , wish the political leadership will come together & give them some more time & get together all the stakeholders to come to an agreeable solution. After all, its never easy to see an asset built with your lifelong earnings being demolished , without a viable place to go & more so for the elderly & the young ones.

well, open Rehab Centree, no problems, but don't legalise an illegal structure...investors should also take half of the blame, leaving the other half to the builder...
