Modi will have no problems
by Varadarajan Ravindran on Jun 10, 2014 11:18 PM

Narendra Modi will not have any problems for the next few years. When the investment climate and market are good, economic repair will not take much time. You will be surprised how quickly 70 years of large-scale economic damage can be rectified; it may take less than 30 years to put India on the same level as or at a higher level than the United States in terms of per capita income. So far the Congress leadership was incompetent and corrupt. It totally lacked vision for growth in education, economics, sociologics and power. The word "sociologics" is a newly coined or defined terminology for improvements in daily life, quality indexes, respect for the law, superstition reduction, scientific approaches, and social awareness.

When you talk of 12% GDP growth under UPA, are you talking about Vadra's GDP?

by Raghavendra Ravi on Jun 10, 2014 10:54 PM

Con Party looted the people. There were too many scams, important decisions were not taken.. PM was a shadow .. extra constitutional authorities were powerful .. now all these "leaders"( I do not whom they are leading!).. are beating around the bush.

19th centuries ideologies
by Khullar on Jun 10, 2014 10:04 PM  | Hide replies

The election was fought on 19th century ideologies with 21st century ideas on winning the game. The congress was inept at handling the attack which was based on divisive ideas. At one place the winning party talked about a united India and fairness and justice to all sections of the societies and at the same time the other members in the same party talked in terms on religious divide. The media was totally taken over and was very biased in its reporting. The people in India and very religious and believe in miracles. They thought and believed that the new government would bring in miracles and voted for them. Sorry miracles do not happen and you get what you sow and till people do not believe and work for good education things will not change. It has to be ongoing and lifelong as everyone has to keep abreast with the daily changes in the technical world to create world class products. Again we keep comparing ourselves with pakistan, srilanka and parts of the Middle East. Why do we not compare ourselves with Japan, Germany, France UK , USA and the like

Election
by G A Krishnan on Jun 10, 2014 09:42 PM

She is talking about some good intentions, but is silent on a lot of wrong deeds. Even if she is right about the MPLAD scheme's implementation, she is trying to pass the buck without adequate proof. Her party has spent enough funds, but they perhaps didn't go whole hog as they sensed the trend and conserved the outgo. It is the combination of work ethics employed by them in the last 10 years of rule accompanied by arrogance, distancing from people, apathy towards the subjects, belittling of the majority population time and again, destroying of the ancient culture of the country and trying to change its time honoured way of living has put them in current situation. There is no simple solution to it unless they change their mindset.

Since 1984 the party ruling has been getting around 30% votes only. So that is nothing new. It is a natural occurence where there are multi- party contests.

66 percent majority divided
by Riv on Jun 10, 2014 09:40 PM  | Hide replies

66 percent majority did not have a strong leader with clear vision and they were not united, hence the votes got divided which gave 34 percent to win the election.
