Before the Visit of Pak PM recently to India, I used to think that the political establishment in the subcontinent is sitting on initiative. Because the graceful and dignified retirement of General Ashraf Kayani proved the critics who would have liked to look at Pak military establishment as some un-professional demon completely wrong. But the new chapter in Indo-Pak ties, shows sincerity on part of the political establishment. So where are we stuck? I think Problem is in our fear to face the unknown. India Needs China not just in currency but also in infrastructure. The subcontinent needs to move out of the past to take advantage of the future. We have to brake partitions to make a sizable economy and rapid infrastructure from Tashkent,Tehran to Mumbai and Shanghai,Laos to Kolkata and so on. So what is the fear? If we trade in Rs with China they'll push Rupee to ten vs Dollar. But if we have a large-enough economy? we can start somewhere even today, because we are a consumer economy unlike China. Moving ahead rapidly makes sense for China, Pakistan, Bangladesh and India. But Will they do that?
China has huge stake in India as its exports are much more comparing to imports from India, as such, to have deep friendship with India is China necessity viz. a viz. India. Political issues today are affected with economic ties, as such no danger from China rather Modi will maintain good relations with China.
Diplomacy is a serious profession. If diplomacy fails, war begins. This is no place for ideologues and propagandists.
Mr. Bhadrakumar in his blog has reported about RSS interference in foreign policy by thrusting the in-exile PM of Tibet. Was initially elated by this bold gesture, but when the facts about RSS and party ideologues manipulating this move came about, it is really very shocking. The adrenaline rush these politicos may get could come at the cost of Indian military personnel.
Policy making on security matter is a very serious business which has to be carefully researched. India is no more a third world nation, it requires and deserves professional diplomatic conduct. It is one thing to write an article or a blog, and totally another when real diplomatic business is done.

The same story may get repeated in economic policy making as well. During Congress dynasty days, reckless interference by corrupt politicians and leftist ideologues severely damaged Indian economic interests and India fell woefully behind China.
To make up for lost time, and put India on a long term growth trajectory, underlings of crony capitalists, and Political ideologues must be kept at arms length from government policy decision.
