role of older people...

In India, there is no individuality. Each is dependent on others( family members or outsiders) be it children, young or older. Dependency could be of finance, kitchen work, health, motivational, companionship... though ultimately these might be good from individual's point of view but at a cost which others wanted the same back in due course.... whether the concerned had been in a position or not. This is basically a exploitation by all including parents. NONE should take it granted everything all the time when almost all individuals are over ambitious and have to do something for others at a cost again. THEREFORE, older people would always be considered as burden though weight of burden might be felt less if they had sufficient wealth which would help the younger ones in achieving their goals ... though practically burden had been felt more in case of wealthier older parents because then the younger ones have to devote more time in taking care of wealth and executing the plans...
