For Israel its about survival not heroism
by SSS on Jul 29, 2014 04:10 PM  | Hide replies

Israel is surrounded by neighbors whose single point agenda is to wipe out Israel from the face of the earth. Israel not only survived but thrived amidst such animosity. They did this not by trying to be heroes but by being survivalists.

I understand what you are trying to say and I also understand that Terrorists have no Religion and becoz of which they play with Human Lives! Unfortunately, all of them belong to only one Peaceful Religion.

But, my humble request to everyone.. please do not indulge in Tit for Tat solution!

We are Humans and Animals are murch more Civilized than us for that matter.

Take care.
Jai Hind!!!

confusing situation
by s kumar on Jul 29, 2014 03:32 PM  | Hide replies

The situation around israel has always been volatile and there is always a security fear among israeli people since its creation -in a place that has conflicting claims reg. dispossessing land of locals. (the palestinians were not responsible for the holocaust - it was germans - but palestinians paid the price !! ).That explains its aggressive action for any provocation(the latest news is that israel has accepted that kidnappinng was not done by hamas !!) Hence it has to keep fighting to retain its land and in the process all the collateral killings/deaths happen as invariably fighters hide behind dense residential colonies. The ostenable purpose is to totally make hamas redundant milatarily to get better bargaining position in future negotiations. It is really dilemma for india to take any position ..!!

I salute Israel for thier courage and conviction with which they are fighting out the brutal enemies. India has to draw a lot of lessons from Israel. Lot of details are given above by other readers. It is worth reading the same and take precautions from Indians perspective.

Heart-rending

It's is indeed heartwrenching to see the plight of innocent civilians, especially women and childres, those who caught between cross fires of two warring parties. However it is very unfortunate that Palestinians voted in majority to Hamas who are voilence loving militants. They, in fact, do not care their own people but trying to drive on their sentiments.Knowing very well, firing rockets to Israel not going to achieve any thing but to loose, the hard drawn militants ignore all reasonable opportunities. While we can easily condemn Israel's action, we need to think what is the other option they have in the plate. Abhas very rightly told firing rockets should stop as they would not achieve any thing. It is the people of Palestine to decide and denounce Hamas and empower moderate like Abhas which will bring lasting solution to them.
