I THINK NOW WE MUST KEEP CONTEST ON THE SO CALLED HIGH PROFILED CASES. CONTEST WILL BE, GIVE THE CASE PROFILE AND ASKED TO PREDICT WHEN FINAL DECISION WILL COME FOR THE SAME. THE PRIZE WILL BE "MOST TALENTED OBSERVER OF THE INDIAN LAW" AND MUST BE AWARDED BY CHIEF JUSTICE OF SUPREME COURT.
Ashok Chavan may or may not be involved in illegalities and criminal behavior attributed to him. As a Chief Minister of Maharashtra, he did an extremely commendable job. Compared to Mr Clean Prithviraj Chavan, Ashok Chavan is miles ahead as an administrator and in delivering the public goods to the people. Just compare the effectiveness on parameters such as drought relief, assistance to farmers, implementation of central schemes, Urban infrastructure, law and order and food price inflation that is in hand of state, co-ordination with allies and bringing in investments. Ashok Chavan though not spectacular as a Shivraj Singh Chauhan or a Narendra Modi, he did an efficient job of running the state inspite of pulls and pressure from likes of narayan rane and Congress observers from centre who lost their deposits in elections. Ashok Chavan was one of the few who won for the Congress. People i.e. his voters rejected the media reports in favour of an able administrator who delivered when given a fair chance. Media must do it's jobs on exposing wrong doings by politicians of all colours but people's vote is a far better indicator of the kind of politicians that we should elect.
