BCCI is a private entity & NGO. It has no concern with the government. So it won't obey
government orders.

Clubs are still carrying the legacy of Britishers
by aam admi on Jul 17, 2014 08:12 PM

and managements are suffering from inferiority complex , such clubs must be banned till they will reorient their rules as per free India and as per Indian Traditions . Such members of Club, how so ever important portfolio they are holding they are still Slave of British Culture.
Clubs are not a private property but a public place , so they must upheld the Indian Values instead of Copying Britishers even after 67 years.

The acting chief justice himself has posed a question as to how the PIL was maintainable, and has said the court cannot direct the clubs. Now I wonder how Tamil Nadu govt can "direct" the clubs, which are PRIVATE CLUBS. In analogy, if I have a rule that nobody sporting a religious symbol -- like a rudraksha mala or a crucifix -- can enter MY PERSONAL RESIDENCE, can the govt pass a law to overrule that? Let us all show a bit of commonsense. I don't know whether the TNCA club rule is "western elitist", but the praise heaped on the dhoti is nothing but an expression of political and social elitism.
If this illogical attack on TNCA club is taken further, Ms Jayaram (as she is referred to in New York Times) may soon pass a law that the Indian cricket team should also play test matches wearing the South Indian style dhoti, or Lungi for ODIs and T20s.
